Here’s Gabe from this morning.

Fisch brings experience

I think you missed my point. I was specifically talking about how Gundy wants someone no one ever heard of bc he wants to keep them for awhile. Once someone that no one ever heard of is successful he's no longer anonymous and someone will want to hire them away.

IF Fisch comes and is successful but only stays 1 yr I won't be butthurt over it since Lock only has 1 more year anyway

No I understood your point...... Just don't understand why some are shying away from Fisch even if he's only here 1-2 years... That would give JJ (if he stays) some more time to mature.... I have no issue with him other then I think he needs a bit more time.

I agree the board would flip shite if we hired some no name from D2.

Just thought it was an interesting approach and specifically the importance he placed on having a bit of continuity

The biggest problem with Finley to me is that he isn't a QB coach. It upsets the apple cart a bit if our OC does not also coach QBs. Not that it can't be done, but how many quality QB coaches will take a job without the OC tag? Would probably be promoting a GA at that point.

That and lacks a bit of overall experience.

Does anyone see jj staying if indeed we hire Fisch?

What is the hold up announcing a hire?

Maybe BO isn't done interviewing folks; a lot of bowl games to be played

So there are probably more candidates then just Fisch and JJ?

I'd be very interested to hear who else they're talking too/considering...... lol as I'm sure most would

At first I didn't, but at this point he probably would at least for 1 more year.

I do think he'll be an OC somewhere relatively soon though.

Gabe seemed to insinuate that it wouldn't be either one but I don't have a PM account so I couldn't tell you.

Based on the very brief preview of Finley, his style reminds me of Josh Henson who stuck around longer than all of us wanted him to.

Flipside is Fisch, who could get us into the top 25 next year but only next year most likely. Obviously a stepping stone job for him.

I think Pinkel would have promoted from within but groomed him since GP was an offensive minded guy in the first place.

Since BO is more hands off the offensive, I'd lean with Fisch.

I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

We’ll get who we get.
It’s a 50/50 proposition that we’ll be saying “who?”

This might be the fourth time I've replied to one of your posts. You're the Cheese Grits of the Mizzou board.

You only post salty posts to me with no content other than junior high girl complaining. I think you’re an idiot.

Guy sounds like a professional nomad. I would imagine his family would get sick of moving somewhere else every year. Is there no interest in Harrell at all?

According to Gabe, Harrell isn’t an option.

I think you may be reading too much into the bowl game. There are several reasons to think that may not be indicative of what JJ will be as an OC.
I will give some examples.
Bowl prep is different, Most bowl practices are young players getting most of the reps.
Mizzou also prepared without 2 regular position coaches. (The OL really struggled, part of that was Texas had a good DL)
There were at least 5 possessions that started inside the 10 yard line that shrinks the playbook.
The best receiver that opens up the rest of the offense barely played.
There were also 2 possessions that ended on fumbles by players that hadn’t fumbled all season. Those were plays that also would have been first downs.

Ultimately it will take more than 1 game to get a real feel as to what JJ is as an OC
