The signature win could be Kentucky. It’s a good matchup for Mizzou and they will likely finish the year as a top 20 team similar to that Nebraska team in 2003.

Holy crap are we that bad? Yes. I know UK is solid. But really? UK? Signature? Just shaking my head.

And don't get me wrong. I'll take any win over a bowl eligible team as a step in the right direction but not a chance in hell I'd call it a signature win. My standards are a bit higher.

Nebraska finished 2003 ranked 19. Kentucky is 18 at the moment. Georgia is the only ranked team left on their schedule. They have great odds of finishing with 9 or 10 wins and a top 20 team.

If you want a win over a name team then BO has wins over Florida and Tennessee.

I can see us out gaining Kentucky by about 200 yards and still losing.

I just hope the team doesn’t pack it in after Bama humiliates us.

It is embarrassing to think that Nebraska in 2003 is really better than Kentucky in 2018. Both teams have similar rankings. Although if Kentucky finishes out the season with just a loss to Georgia, Kentucky will finish closer to a top 10 team.

I agree that should Kentucky continue its current trajectory that a win over them this year would be a really solid win.

The wins we’ve notched against Tennessee and Florida (which is the part of your post I quoted) are not, were not and never will be signature wins.

Argue with me.

I just brought up the name schools since so many just seemed dismissive of Kentucky a team that ranked.

It’s obviously far from a guarantee that Mizzou beats them, because Kentucky looks pretty good this season.

I’m not on the fire the coach bandwagon because 3-2 is where I thought Mizzou would be at this point in the season. I tend to wait to pass judgment on a coach until after his 3rd or 4th season on the job.

We will see how good Memphis is this week, because I think that they play UCF.

You need to get off of putting down Barry odom that he have not yet have a chance to make adjustments from his mistakes. He have been doing a lot better than last year! Give it a rest please! You are one of the many that wanted barry Odom fired from last year. Tell me who is better in replacing barry Odom? List the names that will want to go to missouri and stay there for a long time? Missouri is not an attractive school for a football coach because it lacks a good recruiting background in the state of Missouri. Fans base is way below the average in the SEC. UCLA? Nebraska? Two schools that hired a top head coach. Why they are struggling right now? Arky also is struggling right now! There are others. Missouri is lucky to have Barry Odom. I have faith he is the guy to get Missouri to the next level. Missouri had 2 major set back. The media was putting Missouri down and the protest. Fans is the other problem.

Acutally Mizzou should have a great shot at beating Kentucky.

They're at home. It's a possible trap game since Kentucky could be looking ahead to Georgia the following week. Their offense is limited and their strength matches up with our defense's strength. Emmanuel Hall should be back at full speed. It's all set up on a tee for Odom to finally beat a ranked team with a clean, composed game.

And while it wouldn't be considered a signature win it would be enough to deserve more time.

OK fair enough but what does this team look like without the 3 mistakes against UGA, who is the number 2 team in the country.
Like a team not coached by Odom

UCF should smoke Memphis. UCF has a lot of experience and talent.
Get Hall back and I think Mizzou should beat Memphis, Vandy, Tennessee and Arkansas. Split Kentucky and Florida and you have a team that won 8 games despite major talent issues on the back of the defense.

There's a Group of 5 game on tonight (Tuesday, 10/9) with 2 coach's that would be better than what we've got now.

And what about the Johnson drop, missed field goal and Crockett stupidity that cost Mizzou the USCe game. Can we honestly lay those "On Field" mistakes on BO? It's not like he's coaching them to go screw up the games.

Discpline starts at the top and as much as I like Barry, his program has lacked discipline much of this 3 years. The beginning of this year looked different as our penalty rates had dropped drastically.

After the last 2 games, that problem clearly hasn't been solved. If he can just get guys to play smart and disciplined, he'll be fine and be at mizzou for a long time.

If he can't even get his team focused on the fundamentals and not beating yourself, then he needs to go.

It is a good matchup for us. I have zero confidence in our ability to negotiate a win against them. They’re a far better team than S. Carolina.

No, they are not a far better team than USC. It took a very clean game from UK and a complete meltdown by USC (mizzou level meltdown) for UK to win that game.
