per Matter on Twitter

No OC expense so leverage the best DC you can find. Keep Haley and Hargreaves and get someone who can put the backend of a defense together.

No OC?

Eh. I’d prefer an OC.

Going to coordinate and call plays. Not crazy about it either but he should be able to attract a solid DC with the available funds.

I don't think the risk of a toxic locker room is worth it for those two.

I like them, but this may be the best time for a clean break and starting fresh.

I don’t like it. Hire a fricking OC and do your job.

Haley and Hargreaves weren’t the source of locker room toxicity.

It is pretty common these days. Tressel, Spurrier, Snyder, Fisher, etc. have all made it work.

Maybe we need to be different to compete. Maybe we end up with a special teams coach for once.

Not saying they were but they would be remnants of the previous regime. There will be players that stay that prefer odom over the new coach but can't leave for a better spot. Anything connecting to Odom could easily become a distraction later on.

Again, I like the them but just not worth the potential issues.

“Missouri: Source tells FootballScoop Drink has offered to retain several of Barry Odom’s staff. We are told defensive line coach Brick Haley, safeties coach Ryan Walters and defensive backs coach David Gibbs are all expected to remain on staff at this time.”

If we have a $5.2M pool and no OC, we shouldn’t be hiring Roof.

We should have an almost Aranda-level hire.

football scoop says we will have a special teams coach, though. That throws a wrench in things.

He may not be Arnada level in price but poaching David Reeves from UAB may be road to walk down.
