I liked the idea of getting a reliable LT and moving Green back to guard. I think he could have made a run at being the best guard in college football. That gets you into the first round of the draft.
That said, you get a lot more chances at getting into the first round as a left tackle. And more chances of getting in the top half of the first round. That is the reality of the situation. I understand Green being stubborn about sticking at LT.
I do like the prospects of putting a second right tackle in a row in the draft, maybe in the first couple rounds.

I think Hafer/Lange will get a shot at Tackle, but if neither steps up and grabs it, then Green/Atkins are the Tackles. If we don't add another top level OL, that is.

If Simmons wins the job, RT will be a premium position.

I just remembered. Simmons is a lefty, isn't he? Right Tackle is the premium blindside tackle.
