I liked the idea of getting a reliable LT and moving Green back to guard. I think he could have made a run at being the best guard in college football. That gets you into the first round of the draft.
That said, you get a lot more chances at getting into the first round as a left tackle. And more chances of getting in the top half of the first round. That is the reality of the situation. I understand Green being stubborn about sticking at LT.
I do like the prospects of putting a second right tackle in a row in the draft, maybe in the first couple rounds.

I think Hafer/Lange will get a shot at Tackle, but if neither steps up and grabs it, then Green/Atkins are the Tackles. If we don't add another top level OL, that is.

I just remembered. Simmons is a lefty, isn't he? Right Tackle is the premium blindside tackle.

If the freshman WR from Ole Miss (Watkins) enters the portal, do we think Simmons has any pull? I'm sure LSU will be all over him, but they've already signed a thousand WRs
He's a slot, so it would likely keep DO outside, but I'm not sold that this new OC and staff wants him there.

Watkins is going into the portal. He's a traveler. 4 high schools and now his 2nd college. He's an IMG kid his Jr year so he knows Olugobode. I would guess we would have a decent chance if he's a priority. But does he stick around for 2027?

Kid seems pretty smooth with good hands. Had over 50 offers a year ago.
I think we add another at WR, but I can see them going for a bigger redzone target. I doubt they go after Watkins now.
