Missouri has had 17 players drafted since the first draft after joining the league (2013). That's more than Tennessee(16), Kentucky(5), Ole Miss(14), and Vandy(8). It is tied with Mississippi State and South Carolina (17). Auburn, aTm, and Arky have 21 or so over that period.

I think the staff has done a great job of identifying talent compared to the rest of the conference.

I get that we get sucked into recruiting rankings. But building a program around 4 and 5 star players can be as challenging if not more challenging than doing it the Mizzou way. Saban can manage the egos of the kids he recruits. So many of these coaches recruit highly rated players, but produce poorly run teams i.e. UT and Florida.

Coach B.O. matches up very well with kids who have something to prove. He is a no nonsense type of coach, would he mesh with a team if half of them were entitled jackasses? Pandering to playing time and threats to transfer.

It's time for the fan base to demand they up their recruiting talent.

What in the world would this do?

I tell you what would make a difference. Start showing up to the games and donating A LOT more money.

Again though, I don’t give a damn what the “stars” say. I care about the on the field results.

Fans that want to see their teams win on a constant basis would demand that they recruit better, because that's life in the SEC. I'm going to root for them no matter how mediocre they are. Haven't you notice that every year Mizzou loses the top recruits in the state, but we at least get the bottom and some of the middle tier and call it a coup especially in St. Louis?

I said that I wasn't going to be critical of Mizzou recruiting anymore, because our fans attack people that wants to be more than mediocre. I'm through with it and that's why "we do what we do"

Unless you are expecting a National Title then you are falsely equating “stars” with on field success. Recruiting is largely a crapshoot after the handful of obviously elite guys.

Here is the problem with a lot of our fans. “Demand success” (whatever that means) then go on to bash the program to anyone who will listen being fully obtuse to the fact that has the exact opposite effect.

Want more success? Go join TSF and buy season tickets. Otherwise this is all pissing in the wind.

We are going to have SEVERAL players drafted this weekend, have a potential 10 win squad on the field next year and people are still crying about recruiting....

Let's be fair about "Demand Success". It cuts across all lines, and blaming others doesn't help. We as fans also are either part of the success or part of the problem.

The Admin has move facilities into SEC mode. The stadium is much improved.

HCBO has improved each year in recruiting. And some of the little things are proving to be major coups. Getting Elliot Jordon, Shawn Robinson, Kelly Bryant, Johnathan Nance, Khalil Oliver, and Akial Byers don't show up in those recruiting rankings.

As for us fans, what have we done? Attendance is way down. Are you guys going to the games? This is the weak spot. It's hard enough competing with the big dogs for recruits, but really damaging when those kids visit full stadiums on gameday at other programs and 3/4 to half full Mizzou games. Yeah, yean, winning fills stadiums, but if you can't get a full stadium it makes it much harder to get those blue chips, and makes it imperative you coach up every recruit you're successful in getting a commitment from.

I think it is more about coaching than 3 and 4 star recruits. HCGP and HCBO are conservative in their play calling. Great example was the Liberty Bowl. You have a 1st round QB and for the first half you call a conservative game. Get behind at half time and come out in the second half and call a more aggressive game. Why was Drew Lock handcuffed by the coaching staff in the first half?? It's a mid level bowl game. Have some fun and air it out.

Sunkett leaves no doubt with this:

His tap dancing later in the thread is laughable. I wouldn't waste the resources to cross the river.

Coaches on the Mo side should be doing the same thing. I have no problem with him supporting the home state school. You hear that Trinity Catholic? Plus Trinity now has an ex Mizzou player as their coach, now and they still won't give Mizzou 5 cents worth of attention.

Didn't one of his former player just get drafted after getting his degree at Mizzou. Plus a second player about to do the same?

Where the hell doe Lovie get all this respect from? He hasn't done shite. He would have to catch a bus to get back to shite.

What state is ESL in? Again...why don't the Missouri high schools support the home school Lovie is trying to save his job and he's going out big time trying to do it and selling his new plan state-wise might be part of it.

His next year recruiting class has started off with 2 4* players. (It might fade as usual down the stretch)

STL Metro is NOT in Illinois.

Any HS Coach publicly stumping for a college is a joke. He should, instead, be concerned with his players finding the best fit. Trying to funnel them to a trash program because “he likes the coach” is a disservice to his own players.
