Gorman already moved up to Peoria.

Barring some disastrous turn, Shildt has the job. There will be concoted intrigue; pro-Girardi tub-thumping by oblivious media people who must have clicks. But just follow the Mozeliak-Shildt history. And just listen to the players.

We make the playoffs it's a no brainer.
Now we just need to sign Machado in the off season.
1B - Carpenter
CF - Bader
LF - Ozuna
3B - Machado
RF - Martinez/Fowler
C - Molina
SS - Dejong
2B - Wong/Someone else

Jeff Gordan doesn’t think Machado will come to the STL. Or DeWitt will pay up to get him.

Lol yeah we aren't getting Machado. Certainly can't have any confidence about signing any big name free agent.

Ahh, that Miklasz "smartest man in the room until my opinion shits the bed" arrogance.
He may be right on Shildt but I'm not sure if bringing in another manager who will acquiesce to Mozeliak is going to produce the best results, long-term. On the flip side, if they fail the DeWitt's would be well within their perview to clean house on Bow Tie.

Jon Heyman: Interim Shildt may be the right man to manage the Cardinals full-time
Glad the national media is starting to pick up on the obvious.

Shildt pinch hits Greg Garcia in the 8th then pulls him back after a pitching change for Wisdom, basehit, 3 run homer for Marp.

Cards now just 2 back of the wild card and Carpenter is the best player in the National League this year.

Hudson already has 3 wins in relief. Wisdom had another hit. What a turnaround this has been.

7 in a row!
1 back of Wildcard, 4 in divison.
This team is fun again.

Where can I buy a case of the magic salsa?

the amount of BACK the cards are in just insane. Can you imagine raining on the cubs "glory years" with what we've had this year.

That would make it all the more sweeter.

If Carp doesn't turn this into a product or endorsement deal, he needs to fire his agent.

Carp gets hit on the hand with a fastball, quite a bit of pain and leaves the game.

Meh. I’ve soured on wanting either Machado or Harper. Both incredibly overrated for rumored asking prices of $30 mil/year.
Harper has had one outstanding year. The rest of merely decent years and it’s not like he’s been hurting for protection. Juan Soto has been a beast. Murphy has had great years. Zimmerman too.
As for MM. very average offensively with LA. There’s probably some truth to his bandbox Camden padded stats after all.

Harper for sure, our outfield is set with Ozuna/Bader/O'Neill. No room or need for him especially at 300m a year. O'Neill can hit .230 with 25-30 bombs and won't make 30m/year.
