Yea I've never advocated for Harper because an outfielder that can hit for power isn't that rare.

I like Machado. DeJong and Machado on the left side would be glorious.

Harper and MM are both young players.

Harper will hit minimum of 350 home runs over the next 10 years (probably closer to 425) There is not a player in the Cardinal system that can accomplish this. He is a future HOF that will be a great player for any team. After a below average season for it will be a great time to sign him. Even with the outfielders in the Cardinals system none will stack up to what he will do.

Harper can play 1st or any outfield position. If the Cardinals could sign him it will put them in a playoff hunt each year with our young pitching talent. I like MM but I can’t say he will have the effect Harper will have.

Every time Harper comes up to bat I think he is going to hit a HR. I can’t say that about any other player in baseball. Every year he will be in the mix for MVP. The Cardinals had that with Pujols, but I can’t remember another player you could say that about for the Cardinals.

He is cornerstone player that any team will be lucky to sign.

Age:
Harper 25
DeJong 25
Bader 24
O’Neill 23
Ozuna 27

Manny Machado 26
Mike Trout 27

You greatly overrate Harper imo. Yea he’s young.
So is Trout who is a legitimate superstar.

Juan Soto looks better than Harper this season as a rookie.

I’m not a huge WAR guy, but his 1.5WAR this season.

The only real upside he brings comes with the fact he’s a lefty hitter.

I agree. Touting Harper as the next Pujols is disingenuous. Pujols never hit below .300 for his first 10 seasons. Harper doesn't sniff his jock strap. Sorry.

Your St. Louis Cardinals are now a playoff team.

Only getting healthier. Bullpen should be real beefy if we get back Martinez and Wacha.

The NL has been pretty mediocre this year. The AL is too heavy. What is it now? 3-5 teams that are +25 in the win column?

Probably have 4 100 win teams.

But little matters when you go into the postseason red hot.

Had to happen. Weaver may be the new Joe Kelly. Mediocre starter but the bullpen can maximize talent. He still needs a quality out pitch though.

No idea why some guys are so reticent to work on a quality change.

Gary LaRocque, director of player development for the #STLCards, is expected to be on the short list of #Mets GM candidates. No organization has developed their players better than the Cardinals over the years, and the latest example is this spectacular run with homegrown players

Cardinals acquire Matt Adams from the Nats for cash. Lefty power bat off the bench we've needed.

Gorman with his first multi HR game in A ball yesterday and an rbi double already tonight.

He may start in AA next year.

Remember when others were saying it was nuts to give Molina $20M a year at 36? I remember.

Still think it's nuts to have a snail batting 2nd. If Molina singles you damn near need 3 hits for him to score.

I would normally agree with that. But since the lineup was shuffled this way the offense has picked up quite a bit.

He might win a Gold Glove this year.
