Matheny out
Should make for an interesting rest of the season

I was saying that if cardinals lose today and yep they actually did the right thing. Players were not playing their best and the Manager was doing a terrible job in the play calling situation most of the time.

It’s time to turn the page. I didn’t think Mozeliak would pull the trigger now. Mabry and Mueller out too. Schildt at the helm the rest of the season.

It had to happen. This is the most fundementally unsound Cardinals team I've ever seen.
And that's on the manager and the organization as a whole.

Agreed...and its been that way for a couple of seasons now. Other than a handful of guys, they appear clueless at the plate and on the base paths most of the time. I did not like the make up of this team going into the season and predicted a .500'ish type team. The manager and coaches are always the first to go, but the fault lies with the entire organization at this point from top to bottom.

I am hearing Girardi, Oquendo among Cards skipper candidates. I would love Girardi Not so much with Oquendo. Another candidate is Joe Espada who served on Girardi's Yankees staff and is now the Houston Ashtros bench coach.

Be interesting to see who they get. Have to believe Mo will be a bit more diligent to get the right guy this time. Also wouldn't be surprised to see him do more than normal in the off season. Have to believe if the next manager doesn't work out, it begins to reflect on Mo soon enough.

I initially wanted Girardi. But after hearing how he didn’t relate well with young players I’m open to others. I know McEwing was interviewed after LaRussa stepped down. Where is he now?

NO,NO,NO...Cardinals already screwed the pooch passing on Francona for Matheny. Girardi is at the top, bottom and middle of the list. Any other hire just gives the Cubs the division.

Exactly. It’s the media and former/current players that perpetuate that about the fans. So I don’t know why fans of other teams try to villify us over it. If their shitty fans could draw 3 million plus every year too they wouldn’t be so butt hurt over it.

And Francona has blown multiple opportunities with the Indians too. He plays in the worst division in the majors, but only has the 6th best record in the AL.

To sign a really good manager St. Louis will need to make some early high profile free agent signings or trades.

How long can this Holland nonsense continue

Release Cecil now.
I would rather bring up all the arms in Memphis than watch Holland, Cecil, Gregerson, and Bowman.
The Cardinals have had better luck in recent years of developing pitching prospects than they have trading for or signing relievers.

Add Lyons to that list too.

I'm done with this team, especially this bullpen.
Rookie fricking no hits through 7 and then you clowns frick it up, unbelievable.
