Daquan Hawkins to UGA
Posted on 2/4/15 at 8:12 am to ZouKeeper314
So do we expect to get Coleman and Guidry to replace Hawkins and Martin?
Posted on 2/4/15 at 8:26 am to ZouKeeper314
Martin has talent, but with his grades and apparent ego, he may never play D1. So ok. Sad to miss on Hawkins, but more so Coleman. I hate slow playing kids, because you piss them off and end up in this situation. Oh, well.

I don't like to wish bad things upon highschool kids, but being one myself, I don't feel bad. That was a real dick move by Martin. Not only flipping on NSD out of nowhere, but then why did he reassure us that he was hard Mizzou after the LSU visit?
Kind of hope he never sees the field at LSU

Even if he makes it to LSU, it is very unlikely you'll hear his name again with their offense. Oh well.

LSU had a 3000 yard passer and 2 1000 yard receivers 2 seasons ago. Has 2 really impressive young WRs. Just need a QB and their O would be good.

I choose to ignore that. I am annoyed at this kid.

LSU turns out receivers while Mizzou turns out D-linemen! Honestly I was surprised that he even considered us. Even if I'm the only one I wish him the best. Show some class people, because you wouldn't call Howard out of his name after flipping to us after being a long time Wisconsin commit.

@DellengerAdv: Told WR Brandon Martin not expected to sign. Will likely go straight to JUCO. Who knows, though. #LSU
Croot'n.

I read a lot of schools dropped off recruiting Martin when his eligibility became pretty clear.

I wanted to give a heads up that I was going to keep this thread stickied through the weekend. Then I'm going to unsticky it unless someone has a reason I shouldn't. If you do think it needs to stay stickied longer, let me know.
Also wanted to give a big thanks to everyone for all the informative thoughts, opinions and insight. I'm not sure there is another free board anywhere where you can devote the entire conversation to Mizzou recruiting. So thanks guys and gals for all of the input, information and just thoughts. I know I've enjoyed it.
What a great class.

Yes. LSU has been turning out great WRs to the NFL lately, so I don't blame Martin for going there.
It's just the reaffirmation only to flip on NSD that really sucks balls.
We could have taken Coleman or someone else had he not done that.
Hopefully payback is a bitch come 2016. If he's even back from JUCO.
Meanwhile, Mizzou keeps raking in top QBs. The WR production will follow with what we have.

The end to another recruiting class. They're over before you know it.
On to 2016 though!

Yeah, I was just thinking, I gotta update the videos and links on the first page. They're about a week old.

Agreed, reedus. I believe we have the best free source of recruiting info out there, thanks to the great posters on this board and their passion for the game. Thanks to each of you who contribute to these threads!

And ... ZOU!!!

That Mizzou-anoia doing better semo?
What a freaking production. I'm telling ya, Urban screwed the pooch by never stepping foot inside the ESL city limits. As rough of a place as it is, they can be a very proud people too. As soon as Sunkett saw fit to mention that fact, I knew they were out.
Does TBJ win the award for best announcement though? Raw emotions. Not the phony pull a name out of the hat.
Oh, and my youngest was making his lunch for school tomorrow and said he's making a TB&J sandwich.

Yes, my Mizzou-anoia has been soothed, at least for a while.
I loved the fact that he was emotional about his commitment, and went where his heart led him. Seems like a humble, well-grounded, family-oriented kid. I'm very glad he's a Tiger. And sticking it to Urban Meyer is just a little bonus.
So what's the T in that sandwich?

I was trying to figure that one out as well.

Great job Reedus and everyone who kept this a civil place to talk 2015 recruiting. I used to post on the stltoday site until I came here. While they and other sites attack, most people here keep the discussions intelligent.
Great recruiting class and great place to talk about it!
