re: Will N. Strong enroll late in the summer?

I don't know if I'm strong enough to last another season with Ish as our starter running back. :dope:
Abbington walked out of the starting job if Strong doesn't get here in time.

From Dave Matter's Twitter:

Yep, it's time for the Pinkel era to end. He's just frustrated that the RBs were not correctly evaluated in camp and was hesitant when it became glaring during the regular season Ish was not the right choice.

...And this is why players transfer. Now most of Hunt's career is already over.
Either our coaches are incompetent or playing favors. They don't want to admit they picked the wrong guy out of camp and rather stick with who they initially picked to avoid the possibility that they were wrong. Now that Abbington has seen what Hunt has went through, he might be more likely to leave the program.

I think people are not upset about this whole situation as they should be. People who don't even watch much football can tell Ish is not prepared or does not currently have the skills to be a quality back at this level. The coaching staff must know this and yet still continues to play him so much. If teaching a player a lesson is more important than having a player with more potential than a player who has already shown he is not going to get the job done, your coaching staff has some screwed-up principles.
And if Abbington gets more carries and plays well, the coaching staff will and should hear it. Now if the coaches truly believe Ish Witter should be a starting back, some coaches need to be fired.

re: Why Ish?

I think that's why he's probably more in the doghouse than he should be, the coaches don't want to "reward" his negative actions with playing time and have him not reach his full potential. But I think it's BS anyway, potentially limiting the already weak offense. If Abbington gets a real chance soon and performs really well, people will be even more upset. You don't want any resentment between him and the coaches.

Pinkel has done a lot of good for this program but I look forward to the start of the next HC's (*cough*Odom*cough) tenure to just experience how things go when they are done a little differently. I like that Memphis is still performing well so we could bring some of those talented coaches over here when the time calls.
re: Same shite different game.

And the fact Abbington can come into the year the way he did and still show his potential with the few game opportunities he gets says a lot about how much talent he has. It is undeniable, he has the skills and build to be that SEC back we see many nationally eye. I just don't want to have to wait until certain players graduate until they let him out of the doghouse or worst, discontent builds-up and he decides to transfer.
re: Hansbrough
Posted by suisfaisetre on 10/10/15 at 11:43 pm
There is no way there aren't some coaches who also think Hansbrough should be getting less carries. I think the most likely scenario is that there are higher-up coaches who either think differently or there are just more sport politics at work behind the scenes. Abbington clearly already seems like our best blocking RB.
re: The 2015 World Series Champions - Kansas City Royals

Okay, now Royal fans are making themselves into victims. It's not just "MLB Network chumps" but many people who follow and report on baseball who don't agree with what the Royals did. It went beyond protecting their players. Royal fans not being able to see where the team crossed the line is the bigger issue. Don't let last year's pennant go to your head.

Haha, stop it. The Royals are trying to be the "Bad Boys" of baseball but are failing miserably. No one fears them in that way. The Royals handled this whole situation in the worst possible way and have came out looking 10 times worst than Brett Lawrie. You can't play around with throwing a 95+ mph fastball at someone's head, that's why the threat is different than threats made in other sports. There is a difference between a hard check in hockey, a hard foul in BBall, even throwing at someone's ribs and then there is throwing a fastball at someone's head.

This is the biggest problem that people rarely bring up. This KA hire is digging our program in such a hole that most coaches who would have gave us a chance if we hired them instead of KA now will not even consider us.

Kills always finds a way to bring up racism but only when it's supposedly against white people or he thinks it's not true. You need a hobby man. It's clear what's on your mind. But the said part is that you will say the most outlandish stuff and people run to proclaim how amazing your points are.

re: People who want Anderson fired after 1 season
Posted by suisfaisetre on 2/23/15 at 2:24 pm
If you really believe that, then I just don't know what to say. With a top coach, this team would be playing on another level. To assume the results would be the same no matter what coach we have is crazy. We wouldn't necessarily be a ranked team but we wouldn't be an embarrassment with a top coach I guarantee.
re: I'm actually starting to think Anderson will be gone after this season.
Posted by suisfaisetre on 2/22/15 at 7:49 pm
No, what he's saying doesn't make sense. It's not better than other reasons people have proposed, it's one of the worst. You have to be blind to everything else. It's not that hard of a concept, you have some players at various talent levels with a 1st year D2 coach getting extremely subpar results. There is nothing surprising about it. Part of the reason is the team is not coached well. If you have a collegiate level BBall team routinely missing lay-ups, you need to take a good hard look at the coaches(and the players a bit).
It's not that hard to see why we suffer from the issues you point out, the team is poorly coached and young with guys like Rosburg getting minutes.

Oh please stop with that race BS. No one in D1 BBall gives KA respect because he is a D2 coach. No one cares about what you did at that level when you pass it. Players are and should be pissed at him because he is trying to be a stern discipline without even being a decent coach first. It has nothing to do with his age and race. There are many old white coaches that the players would respect if they had any credibility at the D1 level. In fact, most of the top coaches right now are older white guys. No one is talking about race not because it's too PC of an issue but because it's not an issue. And you somehow tried to tie the Ferguson situation in with this. There are many reasons to not respect KA as a coach at this level that race is not even on the radar.
People want to reflect as little blame as possible onto KA. I just want to know how long is it going to take for a majority of people to admit KA was not the best possible hire.

Even though he had some rough moments last year, I believe Tuivailala will come up and make a solid impact this year. But the Jaime Saga continues. When he is on with his crazy late movement, he has some of the best numbers in baseball. I just hope he can turn his career around and stop these injuries.
re: Mauk/Printz/Lock
Posted by suisfaisetre on 2/9/15 at 1:56 pm
I just don't see Mauk making the big jump next year. While other QBs may need to just get some more experience under their belts, it seems like Mauk needs to change how he approaches the position. Mauk needs to learn how to stay in the pocket and when to leave the pocket. Some QBs will just never have great pocket awareness. Mauk makes 4, 5 bad passes in a row but then throws a great 50 yard bomb making many forget his bad ones.
I want Lock to put on some weight though. Even-though you look at QBs like Terry Bridgewater who are able to play at an elite level while being really skinny, I still think Lock needs to pack on some weight.

Haven't heard anyone bring up Karon Randolph, WR out of E. Stl High. Already has an offer from Florida state. He's 6'4" and 190 lbs. I'm surprise Mizzou hasn't offer him yet. Seems like a decent BBall player too.
