Chase also said he's wanting to come in at around 225 lbs. He's planning on puting on some of that weight this comming summer. They also said he played through a shoulder injury, cracked ribs and a detatched retina his senior season. So he couldn't hit the weight room his senior season. Thats why his weight is where it's at. Tuff kid.

I think he's missing being at Mizzou this year. Thats why he stays in contact with Golden. He gets alittle down and call Markus. Gotta like this kid. Heads in the right place and he's kicking arse on his grades. Pete said he's going to have a full article on him this week.

Good to hear. Sounds like he's making the most of it. This probably actually works out best for all. Had he come to Mizzou this year, he would have likely redshirted. Next year, it would've still been hard to crack the rotation with Josey and Murphy being in their last year and Hansbrough being a junior. Means he'd start getting real snaps in his 3rd year. Same result by going JUCO except he has a year playing and improving. Downside obviously is that he's not in the system and learning the playbook.

I'm not so sure. I've been reading some posts on PM and they are getting info from the Iowa site that Mizzou simply didn't have room for him anymore. I'm getting the feeling there really isn't any underlying reasoning. On the surface it may appear that way though. But the more I read, the more I think it's just a simple fact he waited too long to recommit. I think if they had the room, Mizzou would take him in a heartbeat. JMO

Thats is one downside, hopefully he has enough talent to override some of this.

The more I read on him the more I like him. Tough road but it'll pay off one day.

Reading some Piggie boards, sounds like Wingo tried to become a "soft" commit for Mizzou, still wanting to take his visits.
The staff told him there are no reservations. If he commits, he cannot take his remaining visits.

It appears that the Bauer commit will have a positive effect on some of the top in state prospects who haven't decided yet. Good for coach P and staff.

Mizzou has always allowed verbal commits to continue making visits under Pinkel.
Andy Bauer and both Hock brothers made visits after making their verbal commitment. College visits by recruits are some of the best weekends they'll have in their lives and coaches know that.
All verbal commitments are by their nature soft commits.

No, the staff informs anyone who wants to take more visits they run the risk of having their offer pulled.
Sure, if you're a Sheldon Richardson or DGB or Blaine Gabbert, that is an idle threat.
But if you're a lower profile or commit on the fringe or issues, you're told you need to decommit to take more visits.
Just ask Anthony Pierson, Nick Rameriz or Edgar Givens.

Nick Ramirez. Wonder what ever happened to him? I feel like we dodged a bullet there.
I barely even remember the names of those other two.

We did dodge a bullet. He didn't graduate from HS and took a grayshirt at KSU.
Pierson signed with kU and is a starting RB.
Givens signed with Arkansas State and did well there.

I doubt Ramirez ever sees the field. So glad we let that one go.
How did he ever grayshirt if he didn't graduate from HS?

He couldn't sign an LOI if he didn't graduate.
A grayshirt allowed him to make up the requirements to graduate and effectively be part of the 2014 class instead of 2013.

Who was the other kid from the same school? Think he committed to KSU too. Maybe a DE or something?
