Abbington went Juco, Thompson didn't show up for Juco, and Gill quit after three days.

Antar to JUCO. Gill because of an old nagging injury I think.

Did not know that.

So I guess he's done with football?

Sounds like it. Not showing up for juco? What was that kid thinking?

I agree. I was really high on this kid. Morgan Steward gives me hope that he can be the power back we really need.

Me too. I think Hansbrough has shown some power back mentality at times but I agree about Steward as well. What type of back is Abbington. I know he's got the size.

He may be the ticket. He runs with plenty of authority. It'd be nice to see him used in more short yardage situations. Ones like in the USCe game. One 3 yrd.run to pick up the 1st, game over.

Remember Dimarya Mixon?

Class of 2013
LINK

Started out commited to the SunDevils, then we flipped him. But then just days before signing day, he flipped again, this time to the Nubs.

I was not happy with that.

Turns out, no such loss. He never enrolled at Nebraska. Not sure why, but he's now floating his resume for the 2014 class.

Looks like Wazu and ASU are interested.

He's tall. We discussed him last year about his height and they might use him elsewhere. But I think he's still slated as an RB. He also runs with power, even at his height. I watched some video of him and he seemed to be a man among boys.

Anyone aware of any JUCO highlights? If my math is correct, and assuming Smith and others would RS their first year, then Abbington's first year at Mizzou would be the same year as what would have been Smith RSF year, right?

There was some game footage of his HS games. But I haven't looked for any juco highlights.

Iowa Rivals site says Mizzou told Smith they were full at rb.

Well, that might make kids reconsider before they de-commit. Best of luck to him but that's a damn shame.

Is this credible? I mean, do we take Abbington after juco and pass on Smith if he wants to commit now? Or do the coaches see the writing on the wall WRT eligibility and are passing?

Thoughts?

Well, you really can't blame Mizzou. Markel had his chance being commited before and then waiting too long to try to recommit. I think it was the only fair thing to do for the commited recruits who have stuck with Mizzou. Either that or there are some other wants hanging on the vine Pinkel wants to leave options open for. they seem to be happy with thier current commits.

As long as they don't flip themselves.

Thats the gamble. Mizzou showing they're commited to thier recruits by turning down a player like Markel. All you can do from that point is hope some common sense and loyalty plays into thier heads from this move.

Just read a new post from Pete on PM on Chase. Mizzou has re-offered and Chase has re-commited. So there's that. He's weighing in at 207 and is 130 yrds away from 1000 total yrds. this season. He is also keeping in contact with Markus Golden.
