Hi Folks,

I know that Mullen bears a lot of responsibility for bone-headed play calling, but it seemed to me that every time Perkins got the ball, he slipped and fell. Ten carries for twenty-five yards? Is he injured, spooked or just over-hyped?

All of the above

I do know he's out there wayyy too much. I'd give him 5-7 carries MAX. If Mullen HAS to have him out on the field, I'd just use him more in the slot. I'd rather see JRob, SHump, Griffin?, Milton more carries.

Perk has no business being the starting RB.

Perkins is serviceable against Ole Miss, ATM and Troy talent defenses. He had no business being out there against Bama.

He's been run into the ground with too many carries

To be fair, the field was horrible and none of our RB's really got anything going. Josh had more than a couple plays where he slipped trying to roll out as well.

I saw a few plays last night where he had a hole and slipped.

How do people get access to team boards without ever posting and asking for it?

That's exactly what I was acting, but OleMOO was acting like they came from ESPN

Let's continue to be fair... Bama's RBs did not. Would love to have the time to watch it again with pen and paper to do a Bama vs MSU in slip downs.

I don't think he's over hyped but Perkins has always struggled against top defenses. He was quicker off the line when he was a freshman. He's carrying more muscle now and it's slowed him a bit.

Is Robinson struggling picking up blitzes? B/c Perk actually did a pretty good job with Williams in there.

Who's hyping him?

Yes he is still overhyped because he is the worst back on the team and he gets most of the carries.

To be fair to him he has battled a high ankle sprain all year long and it is obviously impeding his lateral movement. He's not and hasn't been 100%. He wasn't a world beater to start but he has been limited this year.

That makes him look better but it makes the coaching staff look even more stupid.

All the more reason why he doesn't need nearly the amount of snaps that he's gotten.

Perk as a veteran RB is better at picking up the blitz, and him being in there with Robinson's big arse made more sense..

I hope Griffin recovers nicely next year too. He was just hitting his stride in 2012 when he had his injury. Does anyone know more about that??

He could be the best run blocker on the team. Doesn't mean that he should get anywhere close to that many carries.
