We gave up 10 sacks in our 5 losses- on 183 dropbacks- thats still not bad. And only 19 on the season- good enough for 2nd in the SEC.
By contrast, Bama with their "best in the country OL" gave up 23 sacks on the season
While I do agree with your point I must point out the fact that Bama played in 1 more game than we did.

I don't know why you put best oline in the country in quotation marks unless you think otherwise.

Our pass protection really wasn't that bad considering the statue that Russell is in the pocket.
Our problem offensively was we had average WRs that couldn't get good separation against better secondary's.
And we didn't use our best RBs imo.

I'll throw in my 2 cents:
First, on Mullen, he is in that in between zone right now where over his first 4 years he has done enough to keep MSU fans happy but not really enough to be a hot candidate for jobs that would truly elevate his career.
Second, on how many games we can win this year, the key will really be how quickly do Auburn and Arkansas bounce back because going into the season those 2 are real wild cards. If both of those teams come immediately back to bowl type teams this year with their new HCs it will be tough on us because we have both of them on the road. I believe our season will swing between 7-5 to 5-7 based primarily on how those 2 teams come back this year. OM in their second year with Freeze will be key as well but its been shown that the Egg Bowl home team has a BIG advantage in the series. But even assuming we beat OM at home we would need a split with @Aub and @Ark just to get to 6-6 unless we pull off the OK ST win. With our ridiculously difficult schedule, if Mullen wins more than 7 games during the regular season he should be SEC coach of the year hands down.

Texas A&M, who had at least 3 future OL guys and 2 first rounders, and one of the best scrambling QB's in NCAA history- also gave up 23 sacks.
LSU gave up 32 sacks last season
Our pass pro was and will be very damn good.
That's all well and good, but how many times did Russell have to throw it away because he didn't have time where AJ would've held it another few seconds? How many times would Russell have just thrown it to the sideline where Manziel would have scrambled and gotten tackled in the backfield? How many sacks would our line have given up if we had to play Florida and South Carolina instead of Kentucky and Tennessee? How many sacks would we have given up if we had Mett instead of Russell? It's nowhere near as cut and dry as saying "We only gave up this much sacks and these guys gave up that many sacks so our pass protection is awesome."

We were one of the best in the SEC last season in pass protection
And not so much at run blocking. At all.

I don't wanna sound ghey or nuthin but I dreamed about Milton last night. He was a beast. I used to be a huge j rob fan, but I think Milton might emerge as our best rb this year.

Speaking of rbs, any news on griffin's recovery?

According to him, he's doing better. He told me last week he was a running the 40 at some point soon.

Thx. I think he adds a whole new dimension to the O that we need.
