This feels similar to when Iowa took out South Carolina in the semis last basketball season. GEAUX ladies!

Oklahoma failed to qualify for the Gymnastics National Championship. OU is 2 time national champion and benefit from questionable scoring by the judges. The Lady Tigers are #2 team in the nation and have been scoring just behind OU and have beaten two of the other 3 teams in the national championship

What happened

Started with a horrible Vault (3 or 4 falls) and it just went downhill from there.

It’s going to be VERY interesting to see what happens to the #SoonerBias in scoring as they’re forced to go on the road and combat the nerves generated going up against 10,000+. I have a feeling it’s going to be more of last night

Gymnastics crapped the bed now let’s hope softball does the same

They are going for 4 in a row but have lost 5 games, which is as many as they’ve lost the 3 years. They are still the odds favorite

This is really why I can't get into gymnastics. Too much freedom from judges. Its hard to fathom with scoring when teams are half points off from each other.

Gymnastics experts (I am not one) say that OU's routines are way easier in difficulty level than LSU does. The Sooners have less chance of making mistakes and the subjective nature of scoring makes it worse and they are rewarded for doing simpler routines.

If it doesn't happen this year then I dont think it will. hopefully the girls stay calm and just execute. Don't need to do anything crazy or try to be too perfect

Respectfully disagree. The team is loaded with fresh and young talent. Jay Clark has done an outstanding job of recruiting and developing gymnasts (both transfer portal and HS/Club). LSU is poised to remain highly competitive for several years

Highly competitive is great and what's expected of LSU gym.

The opportunity to win a championship without having to face OU is a unique set of circumstances that doesn't come around often. They have been in the four on the floor every opportunity since 2019 and have 6 national titles in the last 9 opportunities.

This is likely the best shot Jay will have to get it done.

This is similar to WBB winning the natty last year without having to beat South Carolina and would have been the equivalent if LSU FB played Okie State instead of Bama in 2011.

Judging isn't all that different from officiating. Think of pitching. Reality is, different pitchers get the benefit of different strike zones, all from the same home plate umpire.

Should not be that way, but it is.

Is this where we are now? Rooting for any national championship we can get?

Kidding side geaux girls!

Hopefully Skenes and Dunne will be able to show off their matching rings.
