Maybe I'd just simply like to believe that people actually want to improve the rant. I did notice, however, that the solutions proposed all seem to involve getting rid of Alabama posters...

I'm sure they do. The problem is that for most people the concept of "improvement" entails seeing more positive discussion geared towards their favorite teams. Even if you took out every single troll, LSU fans would still bitch about the SECr sucking if the topics of discussion frequently reflected negatively on LSU. Same goes for every other fanbase.
Personally I think a better solution would be ridding the board of the painfully stupid and noteworthily angry. That would result in fewer "LOL Arkansas sucks", "lol umad?" "Jimmies: rustled" and "frick YOU AND YOUR WHOLE STATE YOU WORTHLESS GUMP!!!1!ELEVEN!" type responses. Obviously everyone says stuff like that from time to time, but I'm just talking about those people (you know who they are), who provide that kind of worthless commentary in just about every thread they post in. People who are consumed by stupidity or hate. Take Dale for example, since he has been mentioned in this thread several times. He is notorious for trolling, but the guy is actually more than capable of having a legit conversation when he feels like it. The people who aren't capable of doing that cause more problems on that board than the trolls, IMO. Mostly because they are the ones who feed the trolls and keep them coming back to the buffet of stupid that is the SECr.

I'm reading through the "how to scheme for Manziel" thread and it's full of some outright flames..
I see what you're saying. I just noticed a few days that seemed to be especially towards LSU by a few of the same posters, and then the following comments being even worse.
But I agree the board as a whole needs a reboot. Every fan base catches it for different reasons.

Man it is good you were not here when SECr opened....
Almost every thread was either LSU fans flaming Alabama fans or Alabama fans flaming LSU. Every once in awhile a fan from another school would chime in but they were so few that they were ignored. Plus Alahunter created an Alabama thread a day

I was around for Alahunter's threads but yea, I bet the flaming was horrible. I agree with others in this thread about it being more of an overall culture thing though. It's pretty damn bad some days.
