Yes Taggart would leave and he's bring Mario and possibly Leavitt with him.
Cristobal is the real ace recruiter of that staff. Taggart is solid, but his classes at USF weren't all that different from what they typically bring in. Leavitt nearly had a top 25 class his last season, while Taggart's best was 42 and his last two seasons were both ranked 66.

Sounds like we need Cristobal to be our OC.

Tagg has only done one amazing thing his whole careeer. Hire Mario. Average recruiter at USF and wasn't amazing coach either.. I hope he goes there

Wrong. Taggart rebuilt 2 programs that we're dumpster fires and will have Oregon rolling if he doesn't go to FSU. .

He also ran once they got up. No clue if he can maintain. Also took him a long arse time. Took frost half the time to rebuild a 0 win program. Tagg couldn't even recruit well at USF. His recruiting crap is a lie based on one year of Cristobal running the recruiting. Cristobal is the best recruiter in the country not taggart

Taggart is solid and I would have been happy with him too, but IMO there is nothing to suggest he would be an upgrade over Jimbo at this time so I’d prefer for them to get a new coach than to keep one that has championship credentials.

This...Jimbo can recruit and has a title...and a huge win percentage.
I'd be thrilled if they got him.
Imagine if they got Lane...that would suck arse

Prior to Mullen’s arrival in Starkville, Miss., the Bulldogs had won 4 or fewer games in seven of the previous eight seasons. They had only one season with more than 8 wins in the 28 years before he was hired. In his time there, Mullen produced a 10-win season, 2 9-win seasons, 2 8-win seasons and made the Bulldogs relevant again in the national rankings.

That article is wrong
Jackie Sherrill won
8 In 1994
8 in 1998
10 In 1999
8 In 2000
He also had
7 In 91, 92, 97
He's MSU all time wins holder. He also went 12-32-2 vs the top 25.

That being said I hope Mullen hate fricks the rest of the SEC at UF. If he can fix Franks we'll be great once we get the OL, LB, DT and S fixed

I feel that Mullen has hit the ground running. He seems to have enthusiasm and a desire to get Florida competitive. I hope he has grown and matured in the last 8 years.
Even though it’s only been a few days I’m excited.

No, you didn't actually read.
''the Bulldogs had won 4 or fewer games in seven of the previous eight seasons.'' (2001 - 2009)
2001 - 3 - 8
2002 - 3 - 9
2003 - 2 - 10
2004 - 3 - 8
2005 - 3 - 8
2006 - 3 - 9
2007 - 8 - 5
2008 - 4 - 8
They had only one season with more than 8 wins.
Again, people don't read here.
So in the last 28 years MSU has 9+ win seasons in four of them -- Dan Mullen is responsible for 3.
A team averaging 3 wins from 2001 got magically changed to 8 when Dan Mullen went there while Mullen was coaching in arguably the toughest division of the toughest conference since 2006.

Stole this from GC
Remember blocked kicks?
Remember aggressive defenses forcing turnovers?
Remember sacks and blitzes?
Remember special teams being special?
Remember averaging over 30 ppg?
This season MSU played 4 ranked teams. UF only played 2
Strength of schedule MSU: 21 Florida: 48
First lets look at an Urban Meyer staple that Dan Mullen has copied:
Blocked kicks:
Miss St 15 blocks in 4 years
Florida 3 blocks in 4 years.
MSU has been top 5 in the country for blocked kicks for 4 straight seasons.
2017 regular season:
Returns for Touchdowns:
MSU 2
Florida 0
Punt return yards:
31st MSU
104th UF
Opponent punt return yards
19th MSU
104th UF
Opponent kickoff return yards
19th MSU
128th UF
-----------------------------------------------
Forced fumbles
5th MSU
128th UF
4th down defense
3rd MSU
125th UF
Points allowed
24th MSU
73rd UF
Sacks:
29th MSU
67th UF
Redzone defense:
33rd MSU
55th UF
--------------------------------------------------
Rushing yards:
14th MSU (2995)
89th UF (1720)
Total yards:
41st MSU (5038)
131st UF (3695)
Scoring offense:
37th MSU 32.1 ppg
109 UF 22.1 ppg
The deeper I look, the better I feel. Dan Mullen teams are solid in all three phases. This with 3 star talent everywhere. If he can keep this level of focus with the UF talent base I think we may have found ourselves the long term answer.

We really need a complete overhaul of our special teams on punt/kick coverage and returns on both...we totally sucked this year. Our return teams continually put our offense in bad field position and it seemed we were always starting possessions inside our 20 yd line.
Just improving that aspect of our team will change how often we score....hard to march 80-90 yds downfield.
