3 - 1 on the season (although a hearty pat on the back because I predicted exactly how it would go on a bad day).
Let's get to it:
Quarterbacks
Vanderbilt QB(s): Alright, so it was actually kind of hard to get a lot of film on them because there are few full games available at the moment. (Big shocker.) What I did get to see is: Mo Hasan is the real deal. He hasn't played a lot but the kid is a baller and will do everything to win a game. Mobile, smart and has decent ball placement (on the limited film study).
However: Mo is on concussion protocol and no one is certain if he will play in Saturday's game. Apparently he had a bad one against Missouri and has already missed a few weeks.
The next one up is Riley Neal, who is a decent QB but makes tons of bad decisions. Poor throws, decent to good mobility -- he doesn't worry me like Hasan does.
However: Riley Neal has been sidelined with an "undisclosed injury" and we won't know why until game day. No one knows if he will be ready or not for the game on Saturday.
So we're finally left with Deuce Wallace: Not good. A terrible QB who might play. Less than 50% of his passes completed, 0 touchdowns, 3 interceptions. It's rough.
Florida's QB: Kyle Trask is still the most valuable piece to our offense as we haven't found a running game in any way possible. Emory Jones came in for one QB draw and was stopped for two yards. Nothing has really changed outside of the fact that Trask, in the last three games, has only had two turnovers. He still makes safe passes and has been able to stop fumbling.
----------
Vanderbilt Offense: This was really simple. About 70% of their passes are at the LOS on the flanks, very few downfield passes (when Hasan isn't playing). Outside rushing game that plays right into our strengths (depending on who is healthy for the game). I think we should be able to stop them pretty well unless Hasan is playing.
Hasan is a special player, I can't emphasize this enough.
Florida Offense: Same. shite. Different. Day. No running game, everything is passing, nothing has seemed to change.
----------
Vanderbilt Defense: Oof. Terrible pass defense, their problems seem to be the pass rush. They have zero organic pass rush and usually have to generate with a blitz, but even with a blitz they likely don't even reach a hurry stat over 10% of the time. The QB has a ton of time. They are a stout rush defense, though, and fight very hard.
Florida Defense: Oof. We haven't played typical passing defenses very well. A lot of soft-zone and hoping that our organic pass rush gets to the QB on time. Sure, they get held every game but we need to adjust for that regardless of what refs are doing. We can't adjust for people tackling our receivers, but we can show some more exotic blitzes going forward.
-------------
Predictions:
Pessimistic: We come in hung over after playing a tough game in Jacksonville, especially because it's an early game and have an uninspired effort on both sides of the ball. We have several turnovers, an injury or two and we just shuffle around the field uninterested in the game. They shorten the game and move the sticks, keeping it closer than it should.
Vanderbilt 21 - 20.
Optimistic: We don't miss a beat and come out hungry, our players want to take their ire out on someone and it just happens to be poor Vanderbilt. Defense flies around the field and we finally play man-to-man press which allows us to get a lot more pressure on the QB and we have several turnovers. The offense doesn't miss a beat and does to Vanderbilt what every team has.
Florida 42 - 6.
Realistic:
Our coaching staff is what it is. We have more problems with soft zone, don't get to their QB and they are able to shorten the game which keeps it close until the fourth quarter where our conditioning and talent takes over.
34 - 13.

Take the optimistic outlook. Vandy is falling apart as the season goes. So long as UF doesn’t play hungover.

I think, personally, it depends if Hasan plays. I really like the kid and think he's a dynamic player who can ruin our chances at a blowout.
If he doesn't play, I like our chances for the Optimistic Outlook and this is one of the few times I've actually considered moving to the Optimistic Prediction.
I do think being a noon game we have a 50:50 chance of coming out very slow.

Vandy has some really good playmakers on offense, Kalija Lipscomb is a WR who'll play in the pros next year...Jared Pinkney TE who also will be on a roster next year in the pros and the third player (who is also a senior along with the other two) is Ke"shawn Vaughn RB.
Unfortunately they play on a team with little talent.

It's mostly the QB position.
If Hasan plays it's not going to be good.
If Neal plays it'll be okay for them but not enough.
If Deuce or whatever his name plays we'll win by 30.

Who cares.
I’m sure the players are asking themselves the same question.

We still have a lot to play for, and that attitude needs to be adjusted by Mullen.

Or potentially winning the East. Imagine how fricking dumb it'd be to lose to Missouri and watch UGA lose to A&M, Auburn or Missouri lol.
Sure, maybe it's low-possibility, but if it happened and we didn't play inspired that'd be the worst punch to the stomach ever.

You guys are crazy, I could totally see Georgia losing 2 of 3 and prior to the season I would have signed up for finishing 10-2 with a big bowl game. I still trust Mullen and think the team is still growing.

What kind of dipshit asks what is left to play for?
Maybe the East?
Maybe for the future of the team and recruiting?
Maybe for the juniors and seniors they play for draft stock?
There is an endless amount of possibilities to play for, but the biggest one they won’t play for is some dumbass that already gave up on the season as a “fan”. I mean holy shite dick you giant arse pussy.
If that was a serious question pertaining towards actual possibilities then skip everything else I posted.

finch is a fake fan...disregard. As I have posted before, I have seen implosions happen. In 1992 we were skulldragged by UT and Moo State in our first two SEC games. It was the inaugural year of the SECCG (played in Birmingham btw) and we appeared totally out of it. UT had to lose three games for us to win the east...we had two true frosh OTs and Shane Matthews usually ran for his life (he was a sr then btw).
Well, funny thing happened...UT lost those three games and we beat UGA on Halloween to go the first ever SECCG. We lost to Bama but really didn't belong on the same field with them...we could not run the ball (sound familiar?) and had to throw. Bama had a very good defense and ended up winning the NC.
UGA could lose to Mizzou and AU or A&M. Unfortunately two of those are at home.....but so was USCe. We only have SEC games left, Vandy and Mizzou. We do have plenty to play for....regardless of what UGA does.

listen old man, i'm sorry i didn't grow up in the 50s and 60s watching florida get skull drug around the SEC. i'm a 90s-00s kid watching florida butt frick the SEC and dammit, i expect to see it every weekend.
but if this team wanted any shot at the SEC championship game, they should've taken care of business last saturday afternoon. but instead, they decided to jerk each other off on the field than play football. they shouldn't have to rely on other teams in the conference to do their dirty work for them when it was there for the taking.
to see georgia lose 2 out of the next 3 games is laughable. the only game i can see them dropping is auburn but i doubt nix has the ability to do it because gus is his coach. don't even get me started on mond/aTm. thinking georgia will lose to mizzou even more funny. they're 7-1 against them while we're 3-5 since expansion. we're more probable to lose to mizzou than they are.
for those that want to whoop and holler about a 10 win season, what did last season bring us this year, eh? any takers? 4-5* recruits? how many of them have already committed? trophies? i don't any CFP or SEC trophies in our trophy case recently. not since '08.
y'all can hope and dream all you want to, but to consider me not a fan is asinine. borderline senile for someone your age. i'm just being realistic.

Mullen is having 10 win seasons with a team that is still mostly Macs -3 star U- guys who won 4 games before he arrived.
Had a top 10 class last year and look to finish around 6-8 this year.
Chill dude

sorry. just got worked up by reel's bullshite. anybody that doesn't think like he does isn't considered a fan really gets to me. like his old age and "wisdom" isn't to be questioned.

Screw you finch, stop with the age deal. You are a rotten fan if you really are one. Ive seen many miserable seasons....but I also saw a lot of great teams in the 1960s-1980s...sorry you missed it.

Finch I am not trying to take sides here, but we are probably never going to get back to a Spurrier or Meyer level again for any extended period of time. The admins will absolutely not get out of our coaches grill enough to allow them to do what the other schools are doing. Just not going to happen. Sucks because the NCAA is pretty much a toothless tiger right now and the other schools are getting more bold than ever, while we are being a bunch of milk and cookie wimps.

We have a podcaster who is an NFL scout (essentially) and says that a big problem is that Florida's one of the few schools that turns a serious revenue even with other sports and so it's not like a one-trick pony and why we're less inclined to "even the playing field".
I think the days of 1 team domination are pretty much over, Alabama had one of those runs but I think we'll see a lot more variety as time goes on.
