In all reality: It's only a matter of time. Once Driskel and the oline get comfortable there'll be bombs that are connected. Kid's got the arm, but he doesn't have shite for practice in real time since we threw less bombs in the past two years than we have these last two games.

Synthesis indeed.

I was saying that to my mom tonight: We lost a lot of practice in that game.

And a free win.

I am watching a replay of the game now. I am less worried about the secondary then I originally was. Towles is a damn good QB. He was putting the ball in the perfect spot for the receivers. Our DB's had good coverage but sometimes you just get beat by a perfect throw. I don't think Sims can make the throws Towles was making tonight.

I know, I'm just saying a 70% completion rate isn't great if he has 3 yard/attempt. We are taking more deep shots this year, and unsurprisingly, his completion rate is worse.

How good is KY?

Kentucky may be good but for them to improve so much in the past year that they played us to 3OT AT HOME doesn't speak well of our development. We played poorly.

I don't know what to make of this team. I can't even blame coaching. The players were put in a good position to make plays and missed. Maybe the WRs and DBs should soak their gloves in Gatorade so they get sticky and catch anything coming near them. And Driskel can practice deep passes until his ears turn red. Hell Leak, Tebow, and Palmer were there yesterday. Maybe one of them can show him how it's done.

ETA: And the offensive line again

I don't either.

I tend to post a bunch of reactionary shite after the game that is emotionally based on how the game went, so...

Same. FWIW, other Gator fans seemed less upset after the game than I expected.

I said it before I'll say it again: You can't take anyone lightly. Ever. Especially in the beginning of the year. I'll call it right now: Kentucky is gonna steal a game from another big program -- guarantee they beat Louisville.

No, they weren't on defense. You can make that excuse on offense but on defense they were constantly out of position and had two huge blown assignments.

I take that back, the offensive line had some assignments missed (I counted six overall) where people ran through them without being checked at all.

Four years and this OL looks just as bad as it did the first year. Can't really blame anyone else.

Third down efficiency and O-line just like I was saying after the EMU game again showed their faces. Dropped passes, missed blitz pickups or not even attempting to pick it up. Against a better offense the first half we had it would make it very difficult to win a game. We play and practice with an uptempo offense can anyone tell me how we let a WR get wide open on broken coverage. Good news Driskel recovered, Robinson saved us and our defense held out in the end. But dang I have zero nails left.

Muschamp isn't stupid. He knows his job is on the line. If Driskel continues to play like he did in the first half, and to some extent the 2nd half, he might lose his job to Treon.

I cannot fathom your logic...first of all...Muschamp is too focused on the team to worry about his job and he is a 100% confident at all times =secondly...are you smoking crack? Driskel loses his job to Treon? Please....put that damn pipe down.

First of all, I only saw 2 plays where the OL really screwed the pooch.

Most of the game, UK was blitzing, and rushing the passer +1. So more pass rushers then blockers.

UF only gave up 2 sacks to all that pressure, and had over 500 yards of offense. They had a few drops early that hurt, and Driskel had the 1 bad INT, but other than that shaky start, UF managed it VERY WELL in the 2nd half.

Regarding the defense - UF didn't line up wrong. On the long TD, Gorman just got beat, and Neal took a bad angle to help out.

2nd TD - was just a blown coverage.

UK made some HUGE plays on accurate passes into coverage last night. It happens. But for the most part, UF was usually right with their guys. Poole, Maye, VH3, and Neal all made huge plays in the secondary last night. If not for 2 bad plays, the game is entirely different.

In his defense he did qualify that if Driskel kept playing like he did in the first half...but that's not the problem at all.

Driskel had two for sure first downs dropped, flat out dropped -- he didn't throw it too hard, he didn't throw it late, he did everything he needed simply dropped which hurts your confidence in the guys on the other side and causes hesitation.

He had 300 yards and 3 touchdowns plus a game saving throw in overtime on 4th and long to tie the game up.

He definitely ain't goin' anywhere.

Yeah, Muschamp commented on this. They used an LB to spy, and once the RB went back to pick up the blitzer, the LB would blitz.

This is typically a bad idea because you can burn the defense for huge yards, but we weren't able to execute.

So I don't think the OL was the issue.

I think everyone sees different stuff but that's bullshite. The OL missed a few blatant blitzes off of the edge (we're not talking about up the middle stuff) that went completely unchecked and there weren't six vs. five. It was just blatant blown assignment, no resistance to the quarterback.

And if Muschamp saw this, he should have capitalized on it and it would have been phantasmagorically easy to throw a bubble screen to make sure that the field stretched out a little more.

Muschamp has been copping the frick out this last game, and it's not a good look. He needs to stop blaming his team and start blaming the scheme.

Honestly, Gators and Cats are both better and will get better as the season progresses. Should be no Georgia Southern type game but probably no beating Bama @ Bama either. With 9 games remaining both Vanderbilt and EKU should be wins. Mizzou and Cocks are home games. I would give Gators edge on the road vs Vols and Free Shoes.

LSU and Alabama would not bet the house on but after that enough wins to get to a bowl seem probable.
