Florida could be zeroing in on its next head coach, as a source tells Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports that the Gators have set their sights on Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen, and a decision could come by the end of the day Sunday.

Not a fan of this hire unless we have already been turned down by all of the top candidates. Mullen would cost to much for what we would get . I thought he just got a contract extension this week making the second highest paid coach in the conference. He is not worth more the 5 million a year .

At least with Mullen, the shitatical QB play would be over.

Well....Franks might as well get transfer papers ready cause he aint no spread QB.
We do have two on our roster right now that might be workable, Trask and Allen. Trask has a slower delivery and average arm...but could run the ball...Allen? Not as sure of, but he will be r/s frosh next year and Trask a r/s soph along with whoever we recruit.
Be prepared for heavy doses of run game and playing not to lose. Boring. Fans will run Mrs Mullen out of town in 3 yrs.

I agree . I think he is clearly an upgrade over Mac but not sure about his upside and pay .
These hires today are not improving the conference. It’s disappointing to know this conference will still suck for a few years .

Well Moo State had a coaches meeting scheduled earlier and it was moved to 4pm (probably central time and 5pm eastern) and it appears an announcement is forthcoming.
My opinion of Stricklin slipped 3 notches if this is true.
I heard one of his demands was for 10 cases a week of Mountain Dew...his go to drink and that a Scientology Class be available for all student athletes (j/k, but not about the Dew)
