Yep Franks fault we couldn't run the ball. Also probably Franks fault we couldn't tackle.
GTFO with that shite. 32 yards of production from the RB position is not the QB's fault.

Franks' fault that he can't see the field well.

He was involved in 4 turnovers, 3 of them clearly his fault.

You guys gotta stop sucking this pathetic dude's dick every time we nearly shite the bed against teams we should easily be able to beat.

The ONLY thing keeping his statline alive is that we got gifted a muffed punt and Kadarius Toney broke three tackles and took it to the house.

The guy is straight fricking garbage, everyone else can see it except this stupid board lmao.

Straws acts like we're a heavy option offense, we're not. Off tackle plays should gain yards, jet sweeps should gain yards but they didn't. Yeah Franks was shite but that has nothing to do with big boy football plays not gaining yards.

You guys never want to hear this, but a lot of this is on the QB. Franks missed easy passes multiple times that would have 100% moved the sticks. He's also back with his timidity of running the ball, he still can't do the read option -- he severely limits what we can do on offense

This isn’t the nfl . Frank has the same scholarship the rest of the QB on the team have . It’s not his fault that the other 2 guys are not good enough to beat him out for the starting job .

Your should really try to be a Gator fan and not a Franks hater . Your by far the worst poster on this board.

I put the blame on Mullen, his bravado just won’t allow him to see that Franks just isn’t going to happen. He needs to get off his high horse and do what it takes to recruit a great QB. It’s as if he’s afraid of hurting Franks’ feelings by sitting him. SMH, Spurrier never had that attitude and he was able to recruit who he needed to get the job done.

1. This game was a shitshow. Its understandable given we had a week less to prepare than everyone else. I'm sure Mullen will do a lot of things in the bye week and against Ut Martin to get us ready for the grind. It reminds me alot of the 2008 Ole Miss game, or the last few Miami games we've had. Just turnover fests on our end. It hard to forget they have good players. I'm not hair on fire mad, but I'm definitely not reassured by the performance.

2. Very impressed by the defense. Yes they fricked up a lot the last two minutes, and I would not want to be a DB in practice this week. The DLine though are monsters and deep, LB core played well against some fast players. They spent a lot of time on the field and played excellent all things considered.

3. Lets remember it is the first game. We won. We played terribly, but we also left a lot of points on the field if not for two fumbles on Miami's side. We can play better, and I think we will.

We had the same prep time. Our camp started a week earlier than others because of week 0

I agree with you . The offensive struggles are on Mullen . I think he is playing Franks because Franks cockyness keeps from falling apart . Also he is not running Franks much . Our offense is a lot better when Franks runs the ball . We have some good deep threat WRs and we need to use them more along with Franks legs . It seems like early in the year Mullen is scared to run Franks . I feel like the offense could improve a lot by running Franks . It opens up the pass and rushing game . We don’t need big plays just first downs to get the offense in going smoothly.

It wouldn't have worked well having Franks run last night, we have to accept that miamuhs defense is damn good and they ALWAYS play us tough...Spurrier lost to them 2 out of 3 games. They hate us because we 250 X more $$ than they do and 250 X more fans...so they play us with a lot more intensity than we do.

If you look at the SEC rant and our board you would think the Florida Gators (straws) were just manhandled & embarrassed in front of the nation for losing to Florida A&M.

we just played as ugly a game as we played since Mullen has been here ( except maybe Mizzou last year) and WON THE FRICKIN GAME against Miami.

there are alot of things that the coaches and players can take from this game and clean up and teach and coach them up on but the one thing you can't take away is the Win the Gators won the game you can rant and rave about Franks , the missed Tackles, the PI calls, the PF calls, the turnovers, the missed blocks from tight ends.I'm sure if I missed something straws will let me know

But the # 1 thing you can not complain about is a loss!!!!!!!

This is actually a very solid point but I don't think it's so much Mullen's fault.

He inherited all of his QBs except for Emory, and he wants to save Emory for another year and to some extent I understand. Emory Jones isn't even close to the same guy as Franks regarding the attention calling.

Really, he'll likely be the answer next year, but man are we going to have to suck it up this year.

Also:

Franks wouldn't last a single game with Spurrier. Kid doesn't listen.

After exercising my 24 hour rule on commenting on games, here is my bad, ugly and good on Saturday's win over scUM.

The bad
1) Tackling, unacceptable.
2) Run blocking, how good is scUMs D Line?
3) Franks decision making at times.
4) Pass coverage, tackle the receiver style.

The ugly
1) Penalties
2) Players attitudes, showboating, just embarrassing
3) General lack of team play

The Good
1) D Line pass rush
2) Playmakers made plays when they got the ball
3) Special teams
4) They found a way to win the game!

Sloppy first game against a determined rival, the Gators fought thru adversity and found a way to win.
I am not giving up on this team after 1 game and will continue to pull for anyone that wears the orange and blue. Any supposed fan that doesn't do this needs to get a life and pick another team to root for. Calling our team and our players trash among other worse names doesn't help anything.
A win over scUM is never easy, some of our best Gator teams throughout history struggled to win, or lost to the Canes. No one is happy about some of what went on Saturday night. UF now has 2 weeks to get ready for the next game, to learn from the mistakes and correct them. I have my tickets for the home opener and will travel 12hrs to support the team and whatever players take the field because if nothing else that is what George Edminson taught us to do and what the phrase, "In all kind of weather, we'll all stick together for FLORIDA," meant.
Go Gators, 1-0, you can't win them all if you don't win the first one!!

Completely off the wall but why doesn't Grimes get the ball more? He was on the other side of the field and caught Kadarius Toney when he trotted for 6.

How fast is this kid!?

Although Miami pulled out the bling chains and acted like jackasses during the game, most of the talk was how Franks acted like a jackass. This is on Mullen. He needs to have some one on one talk with Franks and show him some baker mayfield and manziel jackass videos. Discipline

It's okay to celebrate when you're doing well.

When you celebrate too early, make it all about you, and then you are solely responsible for a nearly game losing turnover it's a lot worse.

A lot of the attention on Franks is way more about his attitude and premature celebration than it is on the stats.

Mullen should 100% bench him for the upcoming game against an FCS and see what Emory can do. Let him know that he's here to play football, not strut around looking for attention like a fricking WR.

Just, NO

Unless you are prepared to turn the team over to Jones for good, Franks needs the reps if he is the QB, which I believe is still the case. Jones should get some PT if the game goes as expected. If he doesn't we have serious problems.

Franks has had reps with the first team for over two years now.

If he can't control himself, he needs to be benched until he can. His offensive productivity isn't high enough to be considered a great loss.

A Quarterback who can't control himself is likely to be benched and simply not make it in general. Manziel is a primetime example, and Manziel was twice the Quarterback Franks is so far.
