I still think that Lagway can have success. His Freshman year showed life but look at who was developing him.

Silver Linings: The tape these players are putting down won’t make them an attractive transfer anywhere lol

The landscape is drastically different in the last 5 years too. NIL, prominent coaches retiring (Saban) or losing their edge (Meyer, Fisher, etc). Of all the coaches available, Lane has the best chance to do it vs every other available candidate. I think he’s figured it out since being at Ole Miss.
Give Ron Roberts the keys the rest of the year and send Bill packing.

Agreed. Random but are these endorsements players are getting contingent on playing time / exposure? Like, if Lagway chose his health over money would Gatorade and Beats not pay him or void the contract? Never seen the details of any NIL deal so speaking from my rear end on this one.
There's nothing to look forward to anymore. "Almost" winning games for nearly $20M a year. At least Boom, Mac, and Mullen had 10 win seasons during their time here.

Lane has the attitude to deal with noise from all sides. And there isn’t some plethora of available coaches that can take on Smart, Day, and Sark. I’d rather have a Top 5 mind over whatever this is.

As always, Go Gators

I think the kid faces in-house treatment (suspended for like 4 games) + whatever pretrial diversion and community service hours.

CBN needs every body he brought into the building to maybe win enough games to keep his job. No way this kid gets booted from the team.

Yep. I really have lost most interest in UF Athletics.
I don’t like where we are but this team was not coached well enough to get 6 wins this year and this was the hardest schedule in CFB. Next year is going to be even harder. Reading the landscape and unless Napier finds coaches like Coach O did when he won at LSU then we’re going to have the same season or worse.
It’s shocking they’re even allowed to stay. Hope this gets wrapped up by tomorrow. It would be an awesome way to start the weekend!
I didn’t follow a single thing off the field all of last season. Just tuned in on Saturdays and letting things happen.

Year 3 is when I’ll look at it more closely. It’s been zen not being so engulfed in offseason and off field noise.
So tired of attrition. We fired TG too late and now losing a coach too soon. If CBN has to constantly backfill at weird times then it’s another 4 years of mid conference finishes. Now, with OU and Texas joining the SEC we cannot fall behind anywhere.
Thinking the longer this goes on, the better it is for Florida. I don’t know where else he can go after this and expect a deal anywhere close to what was supposed to be offered. Any backer will put in so many clauses to protect everything they spend on an NIL deal.

a rival coach I'm telling this story at every stop on the recruiting trail.

Oh, that is much worse. Brian Kelly is flipping LSU overnight. We can’t make mistakes if we are trying to do this the right way. GC or whoever brokered the deal needs to sell their house or take out a loan.

This will sink the entire recruiting department if we don’t pull this off.
Kamari Wilson just stripped out all of his Gators pictures on Social Media. :banghead:

I think we just need to do it and get it over with it at this point. When/if it bombs then we'll move further away from changing it up again in the future and stay true to the Orange and Blue.

Go Gators.
