Where did he endorse Leon? I saw him on a round table talk about Leon, but it was hardly an endorsement imo.

“Graham Mertz I guess is our starter right now,” said former Florida quarterback and coach Spurrier said in an interview with Inside The Gators. “I like the other kid that has come on, I think his last name is (Micah) Leon. He was like the third or so, but it seems like coach (Billy) Napier said, every time he’s in there the ball goes up and down the field a good way. So don’t be surprised if Leon doesn’t play some here real soon.”

Napier really talked him up after the scrimmage and he was getting some 2nd team snaps with Miller out. He must be like 25 if he is 7 years out of high school.

It's actually worrisome that Spurrier said that after seeing the scrimmages without mentioning Mertz as doing good.

Could be Spurrier is just being Spurrier.

Hard to say. I remember that look he had at the stadium when Franks was doing his best Driskel impression like he couldn't believe he hadn't been yanked from the game yet.

Could be Spurrier pushing Graham to be his best. Billy showed last yr he’s not about benching his QB during games for bad play while Spurrier benched Danny fkn Wuerffel for cryin out loud.
Maybe Spurriers way of planting that seed that if you fk up, my boy is behind you n ready to go

Yep I remember him yanking Dean also but he would have never put up with passing like Driskel and Franks. He would have had a walk-on that could pass a little in there before he put up with that I think.

Yep, Spurrier did not accept bad QB play, regardless of the name on the back of the jersey

I agree with what he said about bad QB play basically coming from high school level now because they just put the best athlete behind center and let him just" ball."

QB Micah Leon

“Now, Micah has proved to be very effective,” Napier said. “He’s smart, he’s a student of the game. The guy throws a really good ball.”

Napier looked excited about the possibility of the walk-on getting a shot when talking to the media on Saturday.

“Man, these scrimmages, he just moves the ball right down the field every time,” he said. “Micah has done a really nice job and we’ve given him some reps and he’s made the most of those reps.”

“We’re giving him reps for a reason,” he said.

We have to travel with at least 3 QBs, right?

We are crazy if we don't take him and take a banged up Miller instead.

I agree, I am confident that a spot will not be taken up by Miller if he is unable to play.

I wouldn't be surprised if Miller is suited up for the game if its just shoulder tenderness. Not sure if he would be the best backup option though.

That is a shame, I had high hopes for him when he arrived. Funny how some players just don't work out. He may go somewhere else and be a starter and beat us in a bowl game.

Imo Miller just doesn't have it. I think for him to look decent he would have to be on a team that had the advantages in most other positions. It will be curious to see if Miller gets the first chance if Mertz had to miss time or was yanked at some point. Miller is still listed as 2nd on the depth chart but it sounds like 2,3 and 4 are all bunched together.

Just based on the chatter from camp, I don't believe he is actually the guy that would come in, if needed.
