hearsay is that he is getting the ball out on time and is very accurate. No defenders coming to take his head off yet but sounds promising. Richardson couldn't complete 65% of his passes against air.

Shane Matthews, who I respect a lot for his knowledge of the game and QB play, is very high on Mertz. He said on his podcast that he is accurate, make good decisions, and is a coach on the field, very smart QB. Reminds me of what they said about some past Gator greats.

Kinda crazy watching Gator fans attack SM over his opinion on Mertz.
He was right about AR
Guy coaches and played the position at every level and played for Sourrier, I’m pretty sure he has an idea what traits good QBs need to posses

He also said we aren't going to be as run heavy as people are predicting. Good news, since I was concerned we'd be one dimensional.

If we have consistent QB play you can call pass plays with confidence. Something that Napier couldn't do last year.

Billy heard all the OC chatter last yr, ppl are crazy if they think he’s not gonna open it up if he has faith in Mertz.

It will all depend on how how well the O-line plays in my opinion.
If they come out and look like they are getting a push and can Run the ball you will see alot of carries in the first half
If the O-line looks like it did in the bowl game then nothing Napier calls will make a difference

I think the OL will be fine, we had starters out and ppl playing with little exp in those games.

Hey if he can move the offense then I want to see what he can do. I hope he gets a chance.
If he ends up #2 Miller will transfer and more power to him if that is what he does. I want guys here that will stick it through the hard times. Miller seems to always have injury issues. No matter I want the guys to play that can move the offense
