Absolutely
If I was Ole miss I would not have let him coach either

He was already out the door, so why let him stay to tell recruits at Ole miss hey come with me to lsu if you want to win

If you take a job elsewhere there is no reason what so ever to stay at the place you are leaving

What if it was in his contract to coach the finish the season? I respect him for not turning his back in the playoffs and going to another job.

What if in 4 years, he abandons us to take another job(the NFL)while we were still playing...would you still feel the same way?

Goodbye, good riddance!!!!
If he doesn't want to be @ UF then don't ket the door hit you on the way out

If we are in the playoffs and say he leaves for another job then he'll no , you don't let him coach the playoff

An NFL job I wouldn't care if he finished it out but a college job I would do the same thing Ole Miss did with Kiffin.

Back to the OP, so far really pleased with Sumrall. Now the question is, can he win football games? If the Gators win 8 or more games this season the momentum will continue to build. If they struggle or lose to some inferior team, it will shift quickly. 12-0 Go Gators!

We do need to put the money up in the NIL era now. Hope boosters are a fan and donating. We def live in a CFB World now were money buys championships sadly.

No, he has not.

If he ends up doing anything noteworthy this fall, I might be persuaded a little.

I’m trying to warm up to Sumrall but the uaa mouth pieces and Gary need to shut the frick up. It would be so much easier to embrace the new coaches outside without Gary sobbing on his knob so shamelessly

Honest question..................what more could he have done to this point for you to give him the benefit of the doubt going in the season?

There's nothing he can do before the season.

If he starts showing something during the season, then I'll start giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Stricklin has a terrible track record.

Mullen I hated right away but he showed something initially but then reminded me why I hated the hire down the stretch.

Billy I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt to, and he turned out to be worse than Mullen.

It might not be fair to Sumrall, but he knows what he signed up for. I'm not like the one dude who is "against" him or wants him to fail. I'd rather he prove me wrong through his results. But until I see them, I can't buy into this coach or staff.

Matt, to put it in a simple way:

Under Billy I was cautiously optimistic. Now, I'm cautiously pessimistic.

Partha, I have never considered you to be a Negagator. You are mostly positive about things. Just don't let Napier's failure taint your optimism. I, as always believe the glass is half full and that the future is bright. Go Gators!!!

Im very disappointed with all this stuff with the playoff talk with Sumrall, that for me was just not a good look for him

And it made me really sour on him

But I will say so far he has been working his butt off recruiting, look it doesn't matter the school you will lose some guys between now and signing day. Its going to happen, its the world we live in with NIL and paying players

But I have to give it too Sumrall he is really recruiting hard and working hard
Now will that get wins in the fall no of course not But I do think he has assembled a good coaching staff and seems to really want to win now and not later, Billy definitely did not leave the cubbered bare, except on the O-line but as far as skill guys go we have them,

Im not sold on Phlio Bedo
But will see how this goes, let's see how this team with Sumrall deals with adversity, because with Billy they didn't deal well

I really hope for the best for Florida with Sumrall, but I fear honestly we just have another coach here that will be lucky and happy to get to 8 wins

Mullen lucked out with a mostly down SEC East. How he didn't have Trask starting sooner still amazes me with how Franks was trying to give games away.

Mullen always thought mistakenly that he was the smartest person in the room, so did Napier. Seems to be a common error in failed coaches.

Yep it's real crazy Napier thought he had a clue in calling the offense.
