Relief from the sun and intense heat I guess. Most eyes will be on LSU-Texas.

Any rumors in the area of game being canceled or rescheduled? I expect an announcement of some kind on Tuesday. I hope all is good and hurricane stays off shore.

I would say probably will not be canceled still early could still change direction but I would say as of right now game will go on as planned if it was on the GOM side of Florida I would say move the game to BR tigger stadium

Would like to see the offense get in rhythm and see Jones get some playing time .

The offense needs to come out click on all cylinders we should have open receivers all over the field and the O-line should be able to open holes big enough to drive a hummer through have a commanding lead at halftime something in the neighborhood of 45-3,38-0. And 0 starters should play the second half

Jones and trask should play third and forth quarter respectively and run our offense let the backups and freshman run our full offense not just vanilla bean ice cream it let them play.

Yea there is no excuse for a poor game again here. Miami had a great defense and it was the first game of the season so sluggish things happen. Game 2 though we need those shaky things cleared up.

Run offense efficiently.
Have 4-6 big plays
Tackle well in the secondary
Improvement from the right side of the line
Less stupid penalities

That's what I want to see. As long as we win by more than 30 I'm fine. Though scoring under 40 will be a sign of offensive regression because we blew the doors off of these types of teams last year

Watched part of the UT - Martin week one game. We should physical dominate them.

Dr. Pressure going to pull out some weird mad scientist blitzes just to get them on film to make OCs shite their pants. Hopefully the secondary can clean up their shite.

Some quick WR screen passes to get Franks going early. Run heavy with the backups.

I made my annual pilgrimage to the home opener and had a great time. It's hard to believe how much the campus changes every year I go back and the difference from my first Gator home game in 1966 is really hard to even describe.

Positives;
Gator walk, lots of support for the team
Going to the Bookstore to resupply with new Gator stuff
Tailgating, we had a free shaded spot by the union, off Museum Dr. A "go to" location when we arrive early enough.
Improvements to the Swamp, sound systems, food and beverage vendors
Crowd enthusiasm, those of us there, were loud.
Overall team play, much improved from game 1.

Negatives;
Restroom in Swamp, the one I went in was half flooded.
Size of crowd, fact of life I guess
Lack of game stats on scoreboards, used to have stats up the entire game on north end scoreboard.
Lack of room in the stands, hasn't changed, just seems to get tighter every year.

Overall great experience, I love going back to Gainesville for the home openers. This was probably my 40th trip in the last 53 years. I have lived in and driven from Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas and Michigan over the last 5 decades to watch the Gators open the season at home, to see the old sites, sing the old songs and to remember a lifetime of being a Gator! Go Gators!!!

I wish I could attend games again Matt, but medical issues prevent it. My stepson is a Gator and we used to attend a lot of games and I go back aways when the stadium didn't have but around 50,000 or so capacity and mostly all bleacher seats. I used to get to see the Gators play in Tampa often when boosters/AD would buy out a game switching sites. Miss St often sold themselves for budget reasons...but we also had good matchups at times, Air Force and miamuh, Maryland etc etc One game in Tampa was scarey, playing Tulane in 1969 when the super sophs were undefeated and had to pull out a win in the last minute 18-17 as I recall.

After my parents moved our family from Jax to Mississippi in 1968, I went to a lot of away games until I got older. In 1969, I saw the Gators beat Miss State in Jackson, MS. A family friend who was also a Gator, got hit in the head by a cowbell during the game and went to the hospital in the 4th quarter. That was a fond memory for a 13 year old of a football game. Later that year, we went to the Auburn game, another fond memory, LOL!
The 1969 Gators were a great team and one of my all time favorites, RIP John Reaves!

Actually the 1964 game at Jackson, Ms was Spurriers first ever start. Game was on the radio and loved hearing Otis Boggs describe the play by play.

Miss St had a great scatback named Marcus Rhodes I believe and he was nicknamed "road runner" Boggs and his partner bemoaned the fact UF wanted Marcus badly outta high school but his grades weren't good enough for UF....but good enough for tractor driving Miss St. Anyway, a legend was born that night as Spurrier took us down the field late in the 4th qt to edge Moo State. He threw multiple passes to Charlie Casey who stepped out of bounds killing the clock.

I spent every summer in the outskirts of Meridian with aunt and uncle and my uncle Rex was a high school teacher and loved Miss St and hated Ole Miss with a passion. He told me that Ole Miss is where doctors, lawyers and thieves went. I think my last summer there was 1964. My uncle was a typical southerner back and was a member of the Ku Klux Klan...I was pretty quick to speak my mind and tell my uncle he was dead wrong as a 13 yr old in 1960. I still enjoyed every summer there fishing and hunting with him or my aunt.
