After watching us and Auburn play those first 2 games it hard to predict the outcome of this game and we all know the history of playing @Auburn even with our best teams under Spurrier and Meyer.

The only thing I think is probably likely is Auburn is decent defending the run.

Our first 2 games it's hard to say much because there was no power 4 team in there.

Auburn possible advantages:

They look competent so far defending the run.
They have a very experienced QB and players on offense familiar with each other.

Issues: The QB who is usually not one to throw many interceptions threw 3 against Baylor. They were giving up some passing yards against Baylor.

Florida possible advantages:

The offense looks like it may have nice potential even though it's a big unknown against a power 4/SEC team until this game.

Our punt returner looks like a real threat.

Issues: The biggest issue is we dont know what we have. Tackle positions possibly? This will be the first test though I don't think Auburn has a real top SEC edge rusher like they do some years.

I’m a bit concerned about the trenches, but think our skill players shine and make the difference - gators win 28-24.

OL is a bigger concern. Can't showcase our skill players if we can't block or protect. Auburn wins on a last second field goal 31-28.

We will find out what the deal with Ugorji is I guess this game. I guess Auburn likes to change things up a lot and really bring the heat on some passing downs. That is what one of their fans was claiming anyway.

Our offense will do enough to win the game. Their defense won’t stop Busters offense with our weapons. Defensively, not sure if we will hold up.

I still think Caden should be starting over him. Don't need to listen to their fans. If you remember Muschamp's defenses while he was with us, Durkin has the same tendencies. It's why I'm nervous.

He's going to use multiple fronts to confuse Philo whether they are blitzing or dropping back in coverage. He'll show a 3-3-5 making Philo not make the right read in the RPO by handing the ball off to Baugh because Durkin allows his linebackers and safeties to creep in last second. Xavier Atkins is going to be a nightmare for us. Jared Smith reminds me of Dante Fowler Jr.

Playing this game at Auburn just sucks tbh. I wish this game was at the Swamp.

Any positives for us? VB3, Wilson, Singleton, Stockton need to win their 1 on 1s all night and the OL needs to dominate in the pass block for us so that Philo can have time going through multiple reads to have a chance to win this game.

Luckily, if you know these things, so does Buster and Philo. I think our offense will be fine in this game. Run defense is going to be the deciding factor.

Yep I just watched all their defensive plays against Baylor and Atkins really stuck out. They were bringing him a lot right up the middle. He is really good at dispatching RBs who try to block him with that speed he has. Our interior line and RBs better be on point in addition to Philo realizing what is going on. They brought the house on about 3 passing downs also.

It's just barbershop talk as fans. They can practice and prepare for it all they want. It's a lot more different during the game. Xavier Atkins vs Jadan Baugh all night. That's half the battle in this game.

If run defense is a factor, then our interior defensive line is not ready to eat the gaps or play assignment football so that our linebackers can feast.

The real factor is who's secondary is going to play better. Both teams have it weak.

Philo will definitely need to make quick decisions and our RBs can't have blocking screwups like in this past game. Philo looked decent under pressure in 2024 in limited play but Miami wasn't bringing an extra guy most times and just had those 2 real good pass rushers.

We're asking a lot from a kid who's a first year starter in the most difficult conference to play in. Going up against a defensive coordinator who has over a decade of experience in this conference.

Their gameplan will be to stop Baugh as much as the Chiefs did to stop Saquon in the SB. Our OL needs to hold off on the blitz or we're fricked.

A lot of fans shite on Lagway, but he threw for 300 and 2 TDs and could have added more yards and another TD if his receivers could catch. A lot of dropped catches. The kid could throw as we all know and he handled the pressure decently. But I get the frustration from fans with him with his decision making and he did throw some balls that were very disappointing with him being in his 3rd year as a starting QB. They should have won that game. No excuses.

So if Philo is supposed to be better than him, then I'm expecting 350 yards and 3 TDs. Like I said, we're expecting a lot from the kid.

I think Lagway still struggles reading the field some and his yards weren't that effective overall with him turning the ball over multiple times. I do wonder if Baylor would have went for 2 though if that guy doesnt drop the TD pass earlier before that final TD with a little more time left. Lagway did look more comfortable getting the ball out quickly though.

This is definitely a trial by fire for Philo on the road with an attacking defense like that.

Some of our lateral/screen throwing game will help Baugh quite a bit. It’s going to be pick your poison for the AU LB’s.

As y’all have pointed out, I think both teams will sell out to stop the run. Good point on the DB’s needing to play a great game. With that being said, I’m wondering if we don’t see a lineup shift at CB a bit.

You have to consider we have likely been running a vanilla scheme with the first two matchups having such talent discrepancies.

Gators pull it out 27-24.
