My guess is that it was easier. Although it didn't seem like Scott did much of a search and was enamored with Napier for a while before hiring him, I suppose having to make two major hires for the biggest revenue sports at a major university back to back would be a major pain in the arse and he probably said frick it and used them to make it easier and quicker.

This is just my opinion but I think he did it out of self preservation.

Pretty sure Foley

Per wiki/ Google AI, Mike White was hired on May 7, 2015, and Stricklin officially started at UF in Nov 2016.

You still pretty confident? LSU fans seem to be be thinking he is a lock already for them again like Saturday.

This was predicted.

And I’m as confident as I can be. Remember. I’m not the source. The source has nailed everything so far and we’ve added another and they have different contact saying the same things.

Just let the LSU folks get high. They may win. But it will be outside what our guys are saying.

Remember who is being quiet.

I'm also part of a small Gator board with a few guys, some boosters, some who seem to be in the agent field, and a guy who seems to have a few buddies in the UAA. All of them have said things that seem similar to what your guy is sharing in your forum.

Obviously I am going to keep my mouth shut on details, and we can compare notes when this all passes, but based on how you're communicating it seems very similar to what we're hearing on our small site.

Yeah, this could go a lot of different directions still. I am somewhat comforted to know we have outside help so even if it's not Lane we hopefully land on a good candidate. I think fans on the lsu and UF side are freaking out because the options aren't great relative to the number of school looking.

Interesting that you never see Turnkey mentioned.

I chatgptd some of their recent hires and they are pretty legit:

Todd Golden
-University of Texas (2021): Steve Sarkisian
-Indiana University (2024): Curt Cignetti
-University of Arizona (2021): Jedd Fisch
-Texas A&M (2023): Mike Elko

Agreed. Feel like college football is starting to settle down with the coaching carousels. I’ve disconnected so much, I forgot our schedule the last three weeks. Lol

I still think its'highly unlikely we could make it to noon Friday without something coming out pointing to where Kiffin will be. I would think there will be some smoke on the backup choice for either LSU or FL before then suggesting he is likely heading to the other school.

It would be so Kiffin like to just say, "I am looking forward to the playoffs." and not sign the extension. What would Ole Miss do? What would UF and LSU do? This would the shite that movies are made from and books are written about.

Hold steady everyone.

Read the CCB madness here and enjoy the show as the wave subsides.

They kept quiet this long, they will keep quiet until the game is done and the announcement is set. TBH, if he stays in Oxford, huge respect to staying put.

I became a father last year so taking my son to enjoy a quality product is my floor at the moment.

Still hope it’s Lane but Golesh is an awesome get if things don’t pan out.

Cheers, Gator Fam!

I don't think we're even considering him.

Arkansas and programs like that are looking at him.
