This is just nonsensical. There's no logic or forethought in this. Mullen will very likely at least be in the Playoff in the next 5 years once he gets a stable full of his Quarterbacks so he can run his offense.

Your admitting we need a QB that can run Mullen’s offense to make the playoffs. But your wanting to let s QB that fits his system walk for a guy that doesn’t. Atleast we agree that we are not winning a championship with Trask. It seems like we’re we disagree is the expectations. I have championship expectations and know facts show it’s unlikely if we don’t do it in the first 4 years . I don’t want to become Georgia.

Do you and the rest of the Trask fans agree with Georgia keeping Fromm over Fields? Atleast Fields doesn’t fit their offense like Emory does Mullen’s.

The only thing keeping us from getting to a championship at the moment is oline and secondary play.

Trenches. OL and DT need a presence.

Got some badass DTs coming, Defense gonna eat next year.
OL being held back by Mac Specials.

Straws is QB blind and forgets that there are 32 other players on the field...including offense, defense and special teams.

Franks has way more talent then Trask . He is just a bone head. What’s the comparison between Trask and Franks in the most important stat under Mullen ? Record?

Trask will never lose to Kentucky or throw for under 100 yards.

shite, he had one quarter vs. Kentucky and hit 146 yards. Against Missouri last year Franks threw for less than a hundred and Trask threw for over.

Trask threw for more yards in the Vanderbilt game than several of Franks' full games.

So our coaches goal is to make a average QB look good at win 9-10 games? I guess we have become Georgia where that’s good enough.

Our Coach's goal is to give us the best chance at winning. Trask is 100% our best chance at winning right now and building a future.

A big problem with Mullen QBs is that they are also running backs. A really, really good running back takes around 3 years to turn over. That's why there's never been a Heisman Sophomore Running back, or even a Sophomore who won the Doak Walker award.

With Mullen QBs, they have to run, too, a lot. So that means a skinny guy like Emory Jones needs to be built like a running back to successfully run the offense.

That also means that Anthony Richardson can't run it next year being an 18 year old.

It's not that I don't like the vision or the system, it's that I think we simply do not have the pieces to run the type of offense Mullen wants.

To reel first:

This is the "2020 Quarterback Connundrum", the old man Bingo was his Nameo of players from the 50's is down the hall lol.

Quarterback is my favorite position, it's what I like to talk about the most and I was pretty fricking right about Trask and had so little game footage that it should at least make you wonder if I know what I'm talking about.

In fact, I wrote about Trask almost three plus years ago.

quote:

Your admitting we need a QB that can run Mullen’s offense to make the playoffs.

Trask gives us the best shot, make no bones about it.

Emory Jones is not a playoff Quarterback. Carlos Del Rio is. Anthony Richardson might be. Emory Jones is just as much of a bandaid as Trask is.

Carlos Del Rio is the guy that I really, really want to see develop. Everyone before that? Nah.

quote:

Do you and the rest of the Trask fans agree with Georgia keeping Fromm over Fields? Atleast Fields doesn’t fit their offense like Emory does Mullen’s.

I would have preferred Fields, but I actually think Trask is significantly better than Fromm from several standpoints. Fromm has way more help and has faced far fewer stout defenses yet has similar stats.

Fromm %: 67
Trask %: 69.9.

Fromm Yards: 1,858
Trask Yards: 2,011

Fromm TDs: 13
Trask TDs: 19

There's also the case of:

Fields is better than Jones, and will do more than Jones.

So Fromm is not as good as Trask and Fields is better than Emory. (Thems the facts.)

I would take Fields over Trask, but I would take Trask over Fromm. Trask will never throw for 35 yards in an entire game like Fromm did vs. Kentucky.

That's quite a reach considering the man has thrown 31 passes this season.

Justin Fields is better than Emory Jones. Justin Fields is literally a once in a lifetime QB. Fields has 27 Passing Touchdowns, 1 Interception and 10 Rushing Touchdowns.

I'm not saying Emory isn't good, he's going to be very good for us.

He's not Justin Fields. And so I digress:

Trask > Fromm

Fields > Jones

I would take Fields over Trask, Trask over Fromm or Jones.

Tough to say when Fields walked onto a loaded team with a system in place, playing a pretty avg conf. Not saying he isn't good, just saying his roads been pretty smooth thus far.

I would be more than concerned.

It doesn't make sense to let a top 12 QB walk to start someone who has never started before.

It's even worse because Mullen basically had the best Quarterback sitting on the bench despite some abysmal games from Franks.

This thread is why I dislike some Gator fans, particularly on this board.

Never happy, never content, always questioning.

Is this a joke ? Trask is not close to the QBs that have won the national championship lately and will likely win it this year . Especially when the playoff contenders have more talent around their star QBs.

So are stats more important then the teams record? Franks must have a better record then Trask . I don’t care about the stats , I want wins and championships. Your mind set is a joke. I bet Tebow would not claim his Heisman year as his best year . Because it was the teams worst year with him on the team.

So you have admitted that 2021 would be our year to win it all and you want us to run a new offense with a freshman QB? Why not go 8-4 next year instead of 10-2/9-3 and get the players including QB for the 2021 season some experience in the offense for 2021? I think Emory should get a lot more playing time to finish the season so we can see if he is worth keeping. Everything you Trask fans are saying about Emory is the same things Georgia fans said about Fields.

Do you actually think Trask will be drafted higher then Fromm? Fromm is 1-0 vs Trask with a better game in the head to head matchup. Fromm converted a lot of big 3rd downs vs us while Trask made very few. Fromm has won a SEC championship, something Trask will never do .

Are stats more important then championships and wins? Seems like all you boost about is Trask stats .

Who gives a damn about the draft and the NFL. I only care about what these guys do in college because I am a Gator fan. Who had a better pro career Danny Wuerffel or Peyton Manning?

In 2017 Fromm vs. MSST, TENN and Vandy threw for a combined 38 passes.

Trask threw 39 times vs. LSU for 300+ yards.

Fromm had 291 attempts.

Trask has 239.

Fromm started 14 games in 2017.

Trask has started 7.

A lot of people just really have no idea what Trask is accomplishing right now.

We have sucked at the QB position for 10 years. I am happy to have one guy that can play. You guys can do all the hand wringing you want, because back in 2008 we had Tim Tebow, Cam Newton, and John Brantley and the future looked bright.
