Remember Alex MacCallister? Came to UF as a 6'6" 210 lb skinny DE and was what? A first rounder

Alex was a one down DE. Fowler was much better overall DE. That is why he is making an impact on one of the best defenses in the NFL

Early signing day treated us much better.
Still not horrible but we’ll be alright

BTW MacCallister had a 7'2" wingspan...which is unbelieveable.
The Eagles didn’t have second- or fourth-round picks, so they hoped to get lucky with one of their third-day picks.
Because of all that, pick was available when the Eagles selected him in the seventh round.
As Roseman said after the draft, these off-the-field issues might or might not be warning signs of character problems. But they definitely cost players some serious money. The difference between a second-round signing bonus and a seventh-round signing bonus is measured in seven figures.
McAlister (sp), a player whose third- or fourth-round expectations led to a long weekend of silence.
"It was pain," McAlister said. "Your agents are telling you one thing. Teams keep calling you -- 'You’re going to go this round or that round.' Are you going to pick me or no? I finally got the call from here and it was a blessing. The clouds cleared up, the sun came out."
McAlister was suspended for the first game of the 2015 season because of "too many missed meetings, team rules. It was immature." He missed Florida’s bowl appearance because of an injury, he said. That wasn’t made clear by the team, and reports surfaced that McAlister had been suspended again.
McAlister said he believes that NFL teams, including the Eagles, got the full story from Florida coach Jim McElwain.
"Some teams went to coach Mac and asked him," McCalister said.
McCalister had 6.5 sacks last season. That is the skill most prizes by NFL teams. When he got to the NovaCare Complex, he said, he immediately heard how much he resembled Jevon Kearse, the former Eagle who also played at Florida.
Great pickup of Copeland...we need game changers, a few of them. Need to be able to stretch the field and have a short pass turn into an 80yder to the house.

Also got a playmaker to walk on. This kid could be a very good return man and slot receiver.

Has he announced yet? What's your source?
Awesome that we got Copeland, did you see his mom though? Crazy.

That signing announcement of Copeland is so freaking bizarre, feel for him.....he already is one of my favorite players to watch. He is going to need a huge support group at UF and wish him nothing but the best...football or not.

Finish off with Gerald on Friday and it will be a pretty good finish. Had some targets that didn't go our way, but overall it's a solid transition class.
