I would be higher on him if he was a JUCO DT.
It will be very interesting in the spring to see where DEs move position wise. Polite to OLB rumor is odd to me. Seems like he could be a great 3-4 DE.
The 3 OLs should be the biggest priorities now we have our QB on campus.

Yes the Oline gets will be huge. I think it seems we lose Gour. Just not feeling good about him. Really hope we get two of them. Would load up the line for us. Be awesome.
In terms of needs though. We need at least 2 of the offensive line guys, Walker has to be a get, and Griffin and Gerald would seal off the absolute needs this class
Then it's about depth. DT and WR will be a big focus obviously. Noah Jefferson feels like a sure thing in that regard in terms of coming here. Watkins seems almost a sure thing with the CB's. Copeland is a question but seems to be trending to us which would be a massive get
If we get
Walker, Griffin, Copeland, Barnes, Frere, Jefferson, and Gerald that would be an incredible haul for a first class for Mullen. Would shut up the "he can't recruit" nonsense immediately.

DT prospect Noah Jefferson announcing 01/14.

Weird, but he pushed it back now to signing day didn’t he?

Yes, changed his mind quickly.

Always judge a coach by his 2nd class.

I agree. Though Mullen has shown a lot of balls in class 1 with letting Corral go. Was very surprised by that. He doesn't need top 5 this year. 2019 though he has to pull a very strong class.

Not trolling, but the reason he switched his visit dates (was originally visiting us on 2/2) is because he wanted to visit with his friend JJ Peterson.

I don’t care why he did it, the fact is that the last visit is always the best to have. Don’t forget, his buddy Trey Dean is already enrolled at Florida and that could also play a part in his recruitment and the fact that we DESPERATELY need linebackers in this class.

Don't mind Tenn. fans, man, they literally think they're amazing now and everyone wants to go play for them. They also think they're going to get Copeland.

As do we, keep in mind that Sherrer recruited him at Georgia, like Pruitt/Ansley at Bama. UF isn't competing with Lyle for recruits anymore. This one will be a fight to the very end

Tennessee isn't competing with Mac anymore as well

No, the reason he changed the date is because Florida coaches told him they wanted him to visit 02/02. Florida is trying not to host a ton of visitors if any on 01/12 unless it’s unofficial.

Florida recruiting: Most likely flip candidates for Gators
By Zach Abolverdi SEC Country Staff

We are tackling the best recruiting question supplied by Florida fans each day. If you’d like to submit a question, tweet to Zach Abolverdi here. Check out our question of the day every Monday through Friday. Go here to see all of our previous answers.
If the Gators can land top targets such as 4-star offensive lineman William Barnes and 4-star wide receivers Jacob Copeland and Justin Watkins, I think they have the potential to finish with a top-10 class.
New Florida coach Dan Mullen has already poached a few players from other programs.
He and his staff flipped quarterback Emory Jones (Ohio State), offensive lineman Noah Banks (Arkansas) and Chris Bleich (UCLA) and kicker Evan McPherson (Mississippi State) ahead of the early signing period.
Florida still has a few more targets who are committed elsewhere. The most likely flip candidate is Alabama linebacker pledge Quay Walker, who is wavering on that decision despite the Crimson Tide’s latest national championship.
The Under Armour All-American will give the Gators his final official visit on Feb. 2, but UF has ground to make up on Alabama, Auburn and Georgia. At this time, the Bulldogs are the biggest threat to the Crimson Tide. Walker visits Tennessee this weekend and will then check out UGA (Jan. 19) and Auburn (Jan. 26) prior to his Florida trip.
Auburn defensive tackle commit Coynis Miller will be another official visitor on the last weekend before National Signing Day. Florida once led for the top-150 overall recruit, but swaying him from the in-state Tigers could be a tall task. Miller will also take trips to Auburn (Jan. 12), Oregon (Jan. 19) and Tennessee (Jan. 26) before making a final decision.
Miami DT commit Nesta Silvera is scheduled to visit Florida on Jan. 19. The Gators have been pursuing Silvera throughout his recruitment, but he’s been committed to the Hurricanes for 11 months and seems solid with his pledge. Silvera also plans to visit Ohio State this month.
Kentucky LB commit Xavier Peters plans to visit Florida on Jan. 26, but his recruitment could be in flux. Former UF linebackers coach Tim Skipper was the primary contact for Peters and visited him twice in December. With Skipper no longer on staff, it’s unclear where things stand with Peters and the current Florida coaches. He reportedly has some work to do in the classroom as well.
Auburn commit Anthony Schwartz and Texas A&M commit Jalen Preston are considering official visits to UF, but both wide receivers appear to be unlikely flips. Florida State OL commit Christian Meadows is still listing Florida as an option, but chose to visit UCF this month instead of the Gators.
