I expect us to cover, but think we'll actually win.

New OC and new players on offense give me hope.

I'm saying either 24-21 Cocks or 21-17 Cocks. Close one but we win.

I have the feeling that y’all pull it off as well. Not willing to go straight up but I want those points. So the QB was with Bobo at CSU is that right?

Right.

I think Hill is a grad transfer that now has 2 years of eligibility to play for us.

He also played HS football in SC, so I can't be mad about him getting a shot to start here.

yep - a classic Will Muschanp win that's as enjoyable as a 38 minute toothache over 4Q.

I'll go ... Cocks 25 UTK 20

Parker White 4/4 fg and the voll all world kicker Cmegmia 2/4. (1st one blocked and 4th one short)

USC gets TDs from Muse & fullback transfer Adam Prentice. UTK gets 2 rush TD before half to lead 14-10.

Carolina trails 20-19 late 4Q until Hill connects with Muse down the hash marks for 40+ to take the lead for the first time. 2pt PAT no good.

Jaycee Horn picks off UTk qb on the next play from scrimmage to seal it for USC.

TN 7-7-3-3 20
SC 3-7-6-9 25

Somebody should probably do a welfare check on Cam Smith bc Shi looked/acted ready to kill him last night.

I think you hit the nail on the head.. does the BYE week going into A&M give Hilinski a shot at starting? He's been learning, supposedly, this entire season right? Can't be much worse than Hill at this point.

I think Muschamp confirmed there would be no QB change in his press conference yesterday:

247

quote:

Muschamp said 24 hours after the LSU loss that Hill "gives us the best chance to win right now." However, backup quarterbacks in sophomore Ryan Hilinski and freshman Luke Doty would receive a bulk of the bye week snaps to aid in their development under first-year offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Mike Bobo. That snap count he alluded to has come to fruition through Tuesday and Wednesday sessions."They have taken a majority of the reps at the position and I think both guys are making progress and battling it out," Muschamp said. "Both guys continue to improve and I've been very pleased with both guys."

Oh I haven't looked at that shite in years.. I just watch the games and move onto the next week when it's over (or not over in the case of last week).

I've actually been a little disappointed with Shi this season, a little bit last season as well. Actually, probably more disappointed in his development. I feel like he has gotten worse over his college career here. When he was a freshman that dude didn't have a single drop pass. I think he recorded his first drop deep into his sophomore season. I always considered him better than Bryan Edwards. These last two seasons he has been dropping the ball so much more. Maybe because he's getting more touches due to being WR1, or maybe Bentley just threw a more catchable ball to him. The last two seasons I expected more from him.

I know he's doing pretty well compared to the rest of the SEC, and I'm happy for him, but think of how well he'd be doing if he didn't have any drops this season. He must already have 6-9 drops.

Let’s just blame it on Hill not throwing a catchable ball
Last year Smith lead the team in drop rate

I'm good with putting most of the blame on Hill's throwing, but as our best WR he needs to get back to his old form where he caught everything, plus replace Hill.

In my previous post I said Shi has been dropping it more than I would want him to. IBG provided a link where it said Shi only had 1 drop during the first 6 games (IBG, do you know how many he had at the end of last season?). IBG is just showing the correlation between Hill throwing and Shi's uptick in dropped passes this year. The drop rate is inverse, so leading the team in drop rate is actually having the least amount of drops.
