I am, but when it comes to administrative issues, like chosing a new president or BOT member, I don't feel like I get a say because I'm not an alumni.
My parents were season ticket holders when I was growing up, and I've likely seen more SC games in person than of my own alma mater (where attendance to home games was compulsory). Both mom and dad, along with my sister are alumni of USC. That's how I became, and stayed a fan and feel like I have enough invested there to comment on the sports teams.

If pressed on the issue, I don't think Casler would have been a bad choice.

Well considering the actual university doesn't want Caslen, that doesn't really make much sense.

He was on an original short list, but the BOT decided against him and announced they were re-opening the search.
It was later that McMaster selected Caslen as his guy and is forcing the BOT to vote on him.
I presume McMaster wants influence on the president because he’ll then have direct influence over the school’s budget. That makes it political IMO.
