Yep. Even trailing by 10 pts at the half, I felt we had a chance as long as Silva, Kotsar, and Gravett stepped up in the 2nd half. They combined were 0-7 in the 1st half, and scored 5 pts all at the FT line. They had been the leaders in our SEC run up to tonight.

Then Silva gets 2 quick fouls to add to his 2 in the 1st half, Kotsar still doesn't do much, and Gravett had done nothing much yet. Bryant goes 0 for 4 at the FT line, and I started thinking that it wasn't meant to be.

As soon as that happens, Gravett and Haase pick the team up and carry it to victory. Gravett scored all 17 of his points after halftime, and Haase scored most of his 9 pts, and hit some clutch FTs.

We always seem to struggle in Vanderbilt's gym, both men's and women's teams. I'm happy to get out of there with the win, and now we have 2 big conference road wins....

Gravett carrying the team in the 2nd half:

ugly game
Tony Greene should have been 'retired' from ever officiating another college basketball game 5 years ago. game had no flow through the first 30 minutes - and the review 12 seconds into the 2H regarding Silva was a complete farce.

USC was able to get out in open court with its defense for some transition baskets in spite of the zebras.

Bryant's baseline dunk on the opposite side of the rim is one of the best in the league this so far this season.

I'm not complaining though, they grind. Just wish the OOC schedule had went a little better.

What a game. I never truly thought we were gonna win until the clock was at 2.5. We never even really had the advantage until then. Crazy game. Good road win to keep the Momentum going.

Next up the 13-3 LSU squad at LSU. BIIIG game

Keep paying attention?
you're undefeated?

year 2018... year of the SECUSC... it's spilling over into year 2019.

What's the latest on Cousinard? I haven't heard anything in a while, although I haven't been paying a lot of attention to his situation?

LSU 32-35 from the FT line
USC 6...for 14 from the foul line

Silva - 7 points 3 reb... 5 fouls...8 minutes

well done, Baton Rogue - it was clear from the first 2 minutes following Silva's dunk/and 1 to score the game's first 3 points. they didn't waste any time.

eta - Gamecocks made 1 more FG (2 more 3P FGM) than LSU, shot a higher FG% for the game - and lost by 22 on a 26 point disadvantage at the foul line. astounding.

I didn’t get to watch the game but damn that stat line is a joke. SEC put a call in before the game to cool our Cocks off.

It’s gonna suck if we miss the tournament because of the way we played OOC

Need to get to at least 18-12. Committee likes tough non-conference losses. Just ask Syracuse from a few years back.

Frank won his 50th SEC hoops game tonight beating Auburn. Silva's career SEC record is now 35-25.

Silva's 35 wins is 1 more than Thornwell/Notice/Justin Mckie in their 4 years. BJ McKie, Bud Johnson & William Gallman have the most SEC wins over their 4 years at USC with 37 (annual 16 game SEC schedule) along with their SEC championship.

Martin could win double digit SEC games for the 3rd time in the last 4 seasons.

Started a good run.

A very good win.. (hopefully) but I'm with ya.

lets hope this keeps going though.

But I will say as much as people are harping about this "new SEC" this actually doesn't make it look good at all.

The SEC was overrated this year. Our record, in conference, has proved that.

I agree.

Auburn had an inflated ranking because they played Duke tough early in the season in Hawaii and they have a coach that does well in March (at UT he had 3 Sweet 16s and an Elite 8)

That same team lost to NC State and crushed by Ole Miss.

Why are you guys being such sourpusses. 5-1 in the SEC and two top 25 wins aint nothin to turn your head at. We had alot of injury and personnel issues during OOC. We are playing tough basketball now and some of the plays ive seen are impressive no matter who we are playing against.

Consistancy is our major issue not talent

because even with the wins our NET has risen minimally and we have a lot to go before making the tourney.

nothing is ever good enough.

never settle!
