He made a comment a few years back that recruiting guys who understood his defensive philosophy was more important than recruiting guys who were flashy and could shoot/score. The comment was in reference to Mike Carerra, the quintessential CFM player.
Our offense is stale. Teams know they can just pack it in, because our guys suck at ball movement, and they suck at shooting. It is tough to watch for me. Without a Thornwell/Dozier type who can get to the rim, we don't stand a chance. I think Bryant and Lawson both have a ton of potential, but beyond that, nobody impresses me in the least. Not even Silva.
Carerra was a great player to have for our team, but lets look at him post college.
Where is he? Out of basketball? (I do not see him on that G League roster that he was reported to be on a few months ago)
I wouldn't be shocked if Frank hated Michael Beasley and wanted to bench him, and look where he is, sure not an amazing career but he's still in the NBA, why's that, because he knows how to score the basketball.

Frank has recruited a bunch of support guys not take charge guys like Sin was. I thought it was ludicrous for the program to try and make Silva into some type of potential all-amercian in the media during preseason. Because of Franks unwillingness to change we now have a team that is full of project role players. Lawson is the only one I see that may have the talent to shed the role player label.
So my question to everyone is do we ride with Frank and give this class of freshman another 2 to 3 seasons or do we look to go into another route with a different coach? He has taken this , bottom of the barrel, program to the highest achievement the men's basketball program has ever achieved. It is also looking like his program will need to go through rebuilding stages constantly with the hopes of a tourny run every 4 years.

Today's game is all about scoring, and we don't do it. People try to compare Frank's squads to Michigan State and UVA, but the fact is, both of those teams always have guys who can score the rock. We don't.

I mean not only that but I swear Frank has more guys get kicked off or transfer than those teams.
UVA is deadly behind the arc, and they never have top NBA talent from the start like MSU does, but shite they all stay there for 4 years.

Yea they're a better team than us, and really shouldn't be.
We are probably the 4 or 5th best team in the state this year.
I only really expect on a yearly basis to be below Clemson (or us Flip Flopping we both ain't really great basketball programs) but this year it's beyond bad.

We would be the laughing joke of espn if we fired a coach, 2 years removed from a final four, that took a sorry sc program to heights that its never been.

I agree. Attrition has killed us the last two years. Keita, Beatty, Gregory, Cobb, Felder, the list goes on and on. I know I am missing a few.
I was texting a buddy of mine the other night, and even just having Bowen this year would have been a huge help. We can't develop any chemistry, which is needed in a big way on offense, because we can't keep guys around.
I still think we just need to say screw defense, and recruit a sharp shooter, just one, who will keep other teams honest.

This is what happens when you miss on all the top players and have to bring in the " take a chance on me " kids.

no we wouldn't
It would be a blip on the radar.
Uconn fired a coach 3 years removed from a national title and no one said anything about it.
Sure that's a different program but they still didn't say shite.

just having Bowen t
I'm absolutely shocked he even thought of this kid.
Everything you saw and read about him had nothing to do with Frank's philosophy.
Then again he probably came to us because we were the only school to offer him.

Are you really trying to compare our program with uconn's? Uconn is used to being a top team so getting rid of a coach that fails keeping them there makes sense where as a school that hadn't been to tourny in your lifespan, and makes the final four, looks stupid for firing a guy 2 years later.

Another loss. Another double digit loss. Another loss to clempson.
Our future is as bright as a black hole.

we aint good.
Clemson owns us right now.
Not sure how in basketball they care less about that sport than we do, pretty evident in Football, don't see us beating them next year either.

Haven't you heard it's the fans fault for not coming out and supporting the team.

If we only had 20 more games against div 2 teams that have only won 1 game.

We'd win at least 12.
