We now know why there's a delay with Muschamp:

I just got off the phone with JC Shurburtt. He has confirmed that Auburn interprets the contract as he can not leave for another job - head coaching or otherwise - before December 6 without having to pay the $1 million buyout. We are told the buyout is the reason for the delay. Everyone on South Carolina's end continues to stay quiet about what's happening right now, so it makes sense.
EDIT: To emphasize, nothing is "done" or signed at this point because of the buyout.

I do not believe Rich Rod was offered the job ... and if Ray Tanner allows that bullshite to stand then he is incompetent as an AD.

JC and others have also came out on Twitter and have said Rich Rod was not offered, frick coaching searches. So much conflicting info, can't believe a damn thing.

I'm at the cabin in Tennessee right now ... thought this was going to be a calm weekend before the announcement tomorrow.
Instead, since some banner scrolled across the bottom of the TV screen ... my phone was blowing. Up. Had not clue what happened. Being told Tanner is livid and is going to address this after he explains whatever to Muschamp.

And what's the story out of CoMo? Was Odom the only guy offered the gig, or did Rhule have a committable offer?
ADs don't typically get in the habit of offering their jobs to people who ain't going to accept. Even ADs as far out of their element as Tanner.
