We all know this is a must win game right?

Lose this one and it's bad ... it's a step back.

Win this one and ... well, we're supposed to beat the vols every year.

Weather is supposed to be great ... high of 60, lows overnight in the 40s.

7:30 kickoff, should be a good, drunk, rowdy crowd.

Coming off an off week, we should be relatively healthy. We get Wonnum back. No excuses for not having a good game plan and executing it properly.

Must win game.

So you couldn't use the existing Tennessee game time thread to post the obvious?

Hell yeah. Tennessee looks like candy corn with little legs. Hope we in all black with black helmets no names in the jerseys.

They are playing better than last year and found out that their backup qb is a better passer than the starter. They beat auburn.

If we are going to keep up in recruiting this is a huge game. Need to be able to show the recruits that our program is ahead of tenn.

I would like to see the black on black but give it a xfl Halloween theme and put Voorhees, Myers, Krueger ect on the back instead of the players names.
Instead of a blackout do a zombieout and all the fans dress like zombies. We also need to surround their lockerroom chanting " we want to kill you" really get in their heads.

Pruitt knew Auburn's plays pre-snap....

That would explain alot about that victory.

We're going to try to run the ball against them ... not sure if we we'll be successful, but they sure worked it hard during the off week.

If Mons Denson is healthy, if AJ is healthy, if Williams is healthy, if Rico is healthy. We're going to try to run thr ball.

We should be able to do some damage through the air.

A little worried about our secondary. They have a couple of decent receivers and we will see two Vol QBs this Saturday.

Man do we ever need to win the battle of field position in this one ... and that means great special teams play. Hopefully we'll get that done with no errors this weekend

Let's keep our fingers crossed that the Willy B is packed and loud and crazy. I see a lot of tickets out there for sale on the web broker sites and on Facebook.

Seems like good coaching by Pruitt and bad by Gus.

Keller Chryst played well against Bama and looks much better than Guarantano. If we don't win this one, I don't think we make a bowl game.

Must win ... must win ... must win.

Yeah, they're all "must win" games, I get it but honestly we're just not there yet.

We are supposed to be here though ... where beating Tennessee is to be expected. That makes this an absolute must win game.

@ Florida and @ Clemson will be the dog, no doubt. Those are "hope we win" games. This game this weekend is a must win game.

Then we take another look at the game down in Florida. That game may be winnable if we go in there with a little momentum.

Right now Tennessee and @ Ole Miss are must win games.

I said at the beginning of the season, when I expected USC to be much better, that UTK would be a let-down loss.

I still think it's a loss, though I'm not sure if it would even register as a letdown anymore.

SOS fan. That would be killer. But they won’t do the name thing. Maybe zombies will show up though. Would be cool to see on tv.

From a marketing standpoint we would be on tv all weekend into the week.

no doubt.

USC w/Muschamp has put a beatdown on just 1 SEC team at W-B, 48-22 over Arkansas last year. this UTK team is just as suspect as the hogs were a season ago.

this weekend has the potential to be what we saw earlier in the year with the unexpected extra week off before USC's dominating win at Vanderbilt.

in WM's own words ...his team needs to "leave no doubt" that Carolina is not only the better team/program this weekend - but the gap between the 2 is quite significant.

Carolina still holds the series advantage since 2005, even though the Gamecocks have aborted 3 sure wins in that time - and arguably a 4th.

to Will's credit, he's won both of his games against the vols as USC coach. a 3rd consecutive win over UTK would be a nice re-start to a frustrating season - much like beating the vols was for USC in 2016.

Rooster - UT is 90th in the country in pass defense. I think we need a healthy amount of passing (assuming receivers catch the ball).

That being said, what is your opinion of Scarnecchia's play? After watching how poised he was in the Mizzou game and how quickly he made decisions in the pocket, I'm shocked at the narrative that has existed about him for these past few years. I had heard people who supposedly know some football and who have contacts on the staff say for the past two years that "SC cannot win an SEC game with Scarnecchia at qb".

Well that statement was obviously completely incorrect and in the Mizzou game Scarnecchia outplayed the qb on the other side of the field who is supposedly a potential 1st round draft pick. Scarnecchia also took us on a game winning 1 minute drive and those rarely happen for SC.

Add to the above that I was listening to Eric Kimrey's podcast after the Mizzou game and he had Ellis Johnson as a guest, and EJ said of Scarnecchia "He can make all the throws. In fact, at practice you don't know which qb is running the play until he turns sideways and you see the number".

So if Scarnecchia makes all the throws at practice and in an SEC game he can look great and have a game winning drive, how is it this kid was made out to be chopped liver in the media and on message boards for 2-3 years? That's so unfair to him and just seems nuts given what we've seen and are now hearing about him.

I understand why Scarnecchia didn't play under the previous staff as he was only a freshman and redshirt freshman. But for him to not have gotten more playing time under this staff, given what we saw of him against Mizzou, I'm only left with some ideas that seem to indicate Scarnecchia is not being treated equally since he's not a Muschamp recruit and he's not the running back coach's son.

One more comment about why I am thinking this.......
After Bentley's horrid 1st quarter against TAMU capped by a terrible interception in the endzone, is there any doubt our previous coach would have made a change and put in Scarnecchia, especially after how well Scarnecchia played in the previous game? We know Spurrier would have made a change and not thought twice about it. But instead, Muschamp said in the post game press conference after TAMU that he "never considered" making a qb change. How is that possible when every fan in the stadium wanted him to make a change at that point?
