What a week one. Everything after the first drive was fantastic. The Oline opened up some large holes for the running backs (which we haven't seen i years). WR's looked quick and got open fairly easily. TE's got thrown to and I know every caller into Shanes weekly show will be happy about that. Lastly, defense did their job.

Onto week 2 with optimism.

Pretty happy. But I'll curb my enthusiasm until Msu comes to town.

I get people saying “well it’s Kent state” but for gods sake SC state was pushing us around last year… very welcome change

I was pleased overall but to nitpick I'm concerned with our pass rush and allowing the QB to run on defense. Offense LaNorris is relying on his arm strength and not stepping into throws. Cutter is obviously the better passer.

I want to see us be more aggressive on defense and I'm still not sold on Sellers being our best QB.

The great news is we finally beat a lower class team like we should. It was never close and frankly there wasn't a drop off between our starters and 2nd team backups. Our DT played the run about as well as you can and we have some talented freshmen.

I think Sellers will improve against better competition. Got the job done, protected the football, no turnovers against a vastly inferior opponent of course but I think once we get past Towson he'll lock in for SEC play.

Yeah, I mean - we all know there are countless examples of us not beating up on teams we were supposed to beat up on. So blowing away a 35pt spread was nice to see.

Sellers definitely had some underthrows to open receivers that are concerning and won't be so forgiving against better opponents. Hopefully playing against KSU and Towson will give him time to adjust.

My hope is the tuneups help not only with that, but with adjusting to a new OC. Get some confidence back and go at the tough games.
