If it was hacked, and I’m assuming it was because why migrate without announcing, it could be for any number of reasons. It could be Clemson fans or another school, it could be a Carolina fan and user who has a problem with the admins there or a personal dispute with an owner, or it could be a group/bot that just targets sites using flawed board ware. Hard to tell without knowing more but this is the second serious technical issue within a year. Hopefully it gets worked out and he can migrate to something more stable and secure.
Nobody stores any juicy PII there but it doesn’t make it any less of a target. I’ve seen many smaller and way less divisive non-sports boards get hacked or flooded by bots just for using outdated boardware.

KSG always great to see and hear from you. As one of the Premier posters on the rant it's an honor to get a post from you.
As everyone knows I'm not very tech savvy so its bewildering to me that people actually go around hacking innocent sites for no reason.
By the way what do you think of the new team of Pitbitch and Pitbull ( CG gets headliner).The team of Destiny and destruction !!!

Very hard these days to keep your board and site safe from attackers. Having my own GC sports board have had to invest a lot of money from these hackers. CT Board is free like mine is. Hacking comes from everywhere seems like now. But if you have a tech-savvy Webmaster and some money you can secure your board and site but you also have to keep the board updates when they are available. You have to love your site and stay with it. I did all the safety nets, I am so far fingers crossed hack free. They hammered my board real good till I made those changes and it takes money. They really liked doing it on a Gamecock Saturday game. Makes me believe could come from a rival site or a member per site though.

I think you are looking at it backwards
In the 50's and 60's you needed MIT street cred to hack (and they were the good guys)
In the 70's and 80's you needed at least a good state college to hack
In the 90's and 00's you needed ah high school education to hack
Now you need a 3rd grade education as they have dumbed some of it down so much so the average end user can navigate their cell phones.
