Tanner nor Muschamp are going anywhere...not for now anyway....
“Earlier this week, I had a lengthy conversation with reporters and editors from the Florence Morning News about our university and the importance of keeping it affordable and accessible to the people of South Carolina. In the course of that interview, I was asked several questions about the football program, including one about Coach Muschamp that I misinterpreted. I misspoke and the mistake was mine, and I apologize for any confusion my comments have created with Gamecock fans or our program. Our Athletic Director and I support Will Muschamp, and we look forward to him being our coach next year and for seasons to come.”

Why does he keep referring to the AD position itself and not just say "Coach Tanner and I" ?

Tanner is the only one there...the only one who could "also" support Muschamp. There is no "in between the lines" here. Tanner and Muschamp are safe for now.I knew it all along but the experts on here seem to know something different...lol..There will be changes in the staff though...

I get it just don't understand his ambiguous statements. If Tanner is safe and Caslen's "guy" then have the decency to refer to him by name. You don't see Ray Tanner saying "the university President and I support..."

Definitely seems to be a power struggle between our BOT and Caslen. We got people on this board saying Trustees want Tanner out while Caslen makes statements implying he may actually support Tanner.

I'm already tired of it. Can we fast forward to the spring game?

Lets wait and see what he says after Clemson fans outnumber Carolina fans in Williams-Brice and we get boatraced 56-7

This year was going to be a wash anyway...it just went further south with all the injuries. That is the main thing that needs addressed. I am sure the S&C will be overhauled and the OC also will get attention. The 18 million was a heavy weight and expectations were not met but like I said before. The other programs are solid as of now. Next year will bring a whole new list of expectations....

It’s all a ploy
This guys military.
He just baited us all.
Because after the Clemson game he’s going to take out both.

Quit trying to give yourself and others on here false hope.

I’ve already accepted the fact that we are gonna suck next year also.

I've been saying it since this started..muschamp stays but replaces 2 coaches..

Tanner will be replaced by next year..you can hire an a.d. anytime. Tanner won't be involved in the next coaching search. He will be gone or reassigned.

There is more to this than meets the eye. Caslen is throwing hints as much as he can without saying the inevitable. Muschamp and tanner are out, there’s no way that they can stay past this year. There is just no way with the controversy around everything that caslen doesn’t cut ties. His image and the beginning of his tenure and his future relies on how he cleans up this shite show.

I’m just hoping it’s PR damage control. Not sure I can take another year of Muschamp and Tanner.

No it doesn't, his arse in on guaranteed money just like Tanner and Muschamp. You climb that far up the layer cake. The job you do can be marginal at best and you'll be sticking around regardless.

You think we'll score a touchdown somehow? Bold prediction.

We’ll score a TD.
Even Rutgers scored a TD on Ohio State
