I absolutely love it. I'd like to have script Carolina jersies and the diamond pattern Carolina in the endzones occasionally as well. Would be perfect for when we do wear the new helmets.

I just prefer older logos to newer ones on the whole. You can just tell that they were hand drawn as opposed to computer generated and that gives it a classic feel to me.
If these script helmets are permanent we better get some 1984 magic for that price of admission. We’ve never not had the bird on the helmet since it was put on many decades ago.
ETA: I say this as a fan of the Carolina script logo, just not on the helmet.
Also, I second putting Gamecocks back on the jersey.

Bama never changes their helmets, Clemson never changes their helmets, Penn State never changes their helmets. Michigan changing their helmets got Brady Hoke fired ... it's just bad ju ju. Ypu never screw around with tradition. That's some low level bush league Maryland UA BS right there.
Teama that screw around with their traditional helmets and logos on said helmets are asking for unnecessary issues to happen.

I practically begged Mike McGee not to drop the diamond endzones. I mean we went out to dinner one night over something else and I gave him a postcard with those endzones on it (I had found on a tourist rack at a truck stop in Columbia) and wrote him a note saying, "Mike, we need to keep these diamond endzones and make them ours."
He put the card in his jacket pocket and said the endzones cost too much money and took too much time and we never spoke of it again.
Some years later, after he was gone, Em (Emily, his personal assistant) asked me to drop by and see her. She gave me the card and said she had just found it somewhere and thought I might like to have it. It's still around here somewhere. Mike had written a nice note on the back ... I miss that guy. Saw him at Em's funeral.

I like the script Carolina ...I even like the helmet more than I thought I would.
I'd rather see the Palmetto on the helmet than script.
I think it's great USC wants to use the script again - I just think helmets look better with logos.

I did see on Twitter last week where a Gamecock fan was asking if we could bring it back and posted a pic of it.
I was shocked to see Ray Tanner pop up in the comments saying "I really, really like this...." So maybe, just maybe, we'll be seeing it again at some point this year.

Michigan never changes their helmets, they brought back a throwback for a game vs ND
(Even Wisconsin has done it)

There are only a handful of teams that can say they never wore a different helmet for one game.
Ohio State not being one of them. And those guys bring out a new helmet for one game every year.
With everything going on there right now I’d still take half of their football success that they have
I don’t see an issue for one game which it most likely is especially if the kids on the team asked for it and like it

I wouldn't want them every single home game. But once in a while would be fine. Or script Carolina in the endzones when we wear the script Carolina lids.
