The 18th also lines up with what I was told. I heard we would hear the day after JUCO signing day, which I asked earlier if it was the 15th. Turns out it's the 17th, so that's a strange coincidence with what you just said. Hope it's a good thing. Only time will tell.

I dunno why the word is about the 18th .... other than what I was told about the vacation thing.

The JuCo thing .... wonder why that would be important? Could it be he wants to see who we sign early? I dunno - I'm asking.

The other thing I thought about and I'm not sure why .... but after I heard it I thought the date might also have something to do with the Clemson game. Everyone knows how the HBC likes to announce things at the Clemson game. Is that here or there this year? It's on the 19th right?

Day 12 - No announcements planned for today. auburn is having some recruiting event this weekend, and they wanted to have their DC in place by then/for the event. Rumor out there is Muschamp has until the end of the day to take it or leave it with them. Then they'll look at Odom or Clark. Muschamp also is getting interest from Houston to be their new HC. That could throw a wrench in everything we have going.

I think they want to make sure Lewis and others are signed. Not sure why they wouldn't sign if WM was announced, but maybe it has something to do with the relationship with Whammy or any others who may no longer be coaching here.

He didn't want to rock the boat with Marquavius Lewis in the balance, I believe/speculate. We just lost Palmer. Our only 2 JUCO recruits now are Sawyer and Lewis. DJ Jones isn't coming here. Durant is going to asu. So I think they were just trying to make sure the JUCO's signed before anything is done. That's all speculation though.

What about Wideman? Did he go prep or JUCO?

He went Prep at Camden Military. He made the score he needed this semester. He's not gong to sign a LOI, he is just going to enroll in a couple weeks. His whole family is back in our corner, I'm not worried about him flipping.

The Houston thing ... yep, that would do it I suspect.

Only thing is, would he want to do the AAC thing and stay out of the Power 4 for awhile knowing full-well that if he fails at Houston his career is basically over as a HC.

Or does he do the smart thing, step back and think ab out it, and then sign with us and let Spurrier mentor him to potential greatness and become known as the greatest comeback story in football coaching history?

Thanks rooster once again for answering my previous question...

This whole thing is getting out of control. I just don't see a master plan in place and just seems we're shooting off at the hip at all times. This is a critical time for our program and I don't see anyway to capitalize on it unless we get Muschamp or another person that caliber with some kind of official or unofficial HCIW tag...

Hopefully they've already been talking to Kirby Smart

I'm honestly about ready for Spurrier to commit seppuku though

Completely sucks, but not really surprising. Right when we think we are on the cusp...

to be fair, nothing is final or signed. all the sites are basing this off of phillip marshall (auburn 247 guy) report and all he said is that they are on the verge of a deal....which he's been saying for 2 weeks.

I'm glad it's over too, in a way. The guy from Scout completely blew his load. This just goes to show that nobody really knows a thing, and all is rumor until the ink is signed.

Not a clue. No idea whatsoever.

Maybe no one. There may be no backup plan.

Anyone else would be sorta anticlumactic IMHO.

Tanner and Spurrier are going to have to approach things very carefully now.

I agree though - the Scout site shot their load. They should just shut it down.
