We probably have a mutual friend. I had a buddy who was doing that around the same time. I wouldn't recommend writing and names, but my friend G.F. worked for B.H. up there...and it didn't end well. He's doing really well now though.

Did not attend USC. Was accepted and actually enrolled, but had family issue come up at last minute which kept me in Florence. Graduated from Francis Marion.

Nope actually was accepted and enrolled in fall of '97, but decided that I couldn't afford it since I was on my own and paying for everything myself. Instead I attended Winthrop, moved to Charleston and attended TTC, then realized that art degrees are garbage. I have since pulled a degree from the Citadel and working on another currently at CSU. Both of the latter are company paid for.

Been a Gamecock since I knew what football was though. Life takes funky turns sometimes though, especially when you grow up dirt floor poor. I am a firm believer in having to make your own destiny, it definitely doesn't come to you.

That's a really good school for International Affairs. I have a friend that wants to do foreign service.. She's thinking about applying there, Tufts, Georgetown and George Washington..

Yeah, the Bush School has some really impressive professors and their big appeal is how cheap they are.

A public school in a college town in Texas or a private school in DC / the Northeast?

They also give us in-state tuition. I'm not sure how long that will continue since they're determined to grow and accept more students. But being cheap is their biggest lure away from those schools that are

1) Super established with a great reputation
2) In DC which provides the best networking opportunities by far.

I applied to a number of the DC programs plus a couple of others (Denver's Korbel School and Miami has a related program) but went with the Ags.

Graduated in May 2011

If I could ever afford it, I'd love to go back for graduate school.

'72 BA (USC) Business Marketing

'85 BA (Language, from another school, European Campus)

Attended USC again beginning in 1999, attempted a BCompSc but fell short and finally gave it up in 2005. I was doing fine part time, held a 3.4, but was just too busy with my day job. I may go back and try to finish, I'm 18 hrs short.

1996/BS

As a fun fact, I was one of the last few inhabitants at Maxcy College before they gutted the building and turned it into an air-conditioned Honors College dorm, I was an RA there in '96 and it was one of my best years at Carolina. I just caught up with one of the guys that was on my floor last night over a few beers. If there are any current students on this board that are thinking about becoming an RA, do it--you won't regret it!

All but nine hours of labs ... but the problem I ran into was that the technology just kept changing so fast and I'm waaay behind the curve now.

I wish I had started in Studio Art Graphic Design rather than CES because I would have breezed through that but CES really kicked my butt part time.

CES is just so fast moving - what I learned ten years ago is now antiquated.

My wife keeps after me to go back and switch if I want, but we travel so much now, and I have so much to do here at home just managing our farm and our finances ... I dunno, it's definitely something that bothers me, not finishing. I bit off more than I could chew. It gets tougher as you get older, it really does. My brain just doesn't retain things like it used to.

Winthrop

Winthrop was one of the colleges I could have accepted a full scholarship to. Beautiful campus. My final 3 were all full scholarship offers between LSU, Winthrop and Carolina.

I just couldn't deny the Garnet and Black running thru my veins, though. If I hadn't had a full scholly to USC, though, I'd have been an LSU grad with Garnet and Black blood in my veins. Ironically, though, I probably would have ended up cheering at LSU if I'd gone there...but as a Gamecock at heart the entire time.

I paged for CKG (GG) Spring 2004, Fall 2004, Spring 2005, and then again in Spring 2006. We were on the 2nd floor in the Gresette Building before he gave up his seat.

I knew most of the pages at that time. We used to go to Salty Nut a good bit after work together (6-7 of us), but I pretty much knew everyone. I still keep up with a few of them.

My mom graduated from CofC in 1979. I dated a girl who went there myself. Was always a nice change up to take the drive down I-26.

I should ask, is she going for undergrad or grad? If she's going for grad and looking at the Bush School you can let me know if there are any questions she has that I might be able to help her with.

Yuck

I had a few scholarship offers for football to Wingate, Furman, Georgia Southern, & Western Kentucky to name a few. Those dissipated when I blew out my knee and had to have 2 titanium screws put in place. Would have still been a Gamecock through and through though.
