The problem I have with all the projections they have out is that the testing is garbage. Which goes both ways, death rate is overstated because so many people aren't diagnosed. But at the same time, the testing we do have is delayed, and this thing is proving to move very fast. Just looking at daily confirmed deaths and how fast they're increasing, we're looking at 40k+ this month if we just maintained yesterday's toll.

And I can't help but think, that there are people dying that aren't being tested, especially before last week.

Would love to be wrong, but I think they decided to shut down too late, and things are going to get purdy ugly.

I have an issue with the death projection, bc in some places, they are doing the testing after the person dies. If that person is found to be positive for covid-19, that’s automatically being labeled as the cause of death. In the case of one lady in NOLA, she died from covid-19, but they failed to mention that she had heart disease, diabetes, and weighed 380 lbs.

Also to the earlier comment with the wars, I mistakenly lumped WW2 in with those totals which dramatically increases them.

Haven’t heard about that. The person I was referring to had a heart issue and caught corona in the hospital and died. Cause of death was listed as corona rather than the heart/obesity/diabetes the person had battled for years.

Also, the baby in CT... terrible. The baby is suffocated but the governor claimed corona.

LINK /

This is dated (just saw this on the OT when it happened-which is my new fav board)
Says here
“Jaquan Anderson died Sunday, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office confirmed to the New Orleans Advocate, with the cause of death still under investigation.“

Wouldn’t doubt he was shot, also happened to have the Rona

I've heard of similar stories, but I can't say for sure what the person actually died of. Just because they had a lot going on already doesn't mean Covid didn't make the difference. And one great thing about our healthcare system is that we're able to keep people alive fighting through a multitude of ailments, probably better than any country in that regard. Flipside is, we have that many more people who will likely have a hard time with this virus. And even if they're near the end regardless, that is what it is, we still have to look out for the strain on the system. People avoiding or getting turned away for other treatable issues because we don't have capacity. End of the day, most people will be fine, but left unabated, even a 1% death rate and 5%hospitalization rate would mean millions in a system with under 1 million beds nationwide according to the CDC. Lets hope we've done enough soon enough, and figure out a way to keep enough things going to get through this.

Haven't heard a word. Hope he's alright. I'm completely back to normal. Wasn't bad at all in my case. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

Back when Obama was in office I made a nice side hustle out of shorting the gun and ammo market. One day I get a call from a buddy wanting AR15's, 8 which was an odd order. I meet him at my office and he says we gotta meet the guy. As he won't leave his place. So we end up and Tigers and Doc Antle was the buyer. He tells me I'm welcome to go on the tour for free so I did. Very cool experience, but every person there was Weird AF. Especially the females. It was legit like what I'd imagine David Koresh's compound would be like.

When I see you say shorting the market, doesn’t that mean you intended the price of guns to go down?
Didn’t Obama/Dems make it tougher to get them? Therefore driving the price of them up?
Yea everyone in that documentary is extremely unlikable. Joe definitely was setup but he still deserves time for a lot of other shite he was doing

I bet. The former TIGERS employee they interviewed in the documentary was pretty whacked.

The longer we go without hearing from SOS, the more worried I am about him. Hope he's alright.

Need to put an SOS out for SOS.

Definitely not like him to go MIA like this.

I have to go into the office tonight to submit a grant that's due by 11:59 PM EST. Someone tested positive for COVID-19 on the floor I work on (which must've just happened yesterday) and didn't bother telling me when I went into the office yesterday to get some stuff done. No wonder it was a ghost town. I will be working on a different floor to get this done... had to pick up a mask and gloves from another coworker.

CG, let me ask you something. Me, the fiancée, and our little boy had something in November/December that had all the symptoms and signs of covid-19: fever, cough, shortness of breath, couldn’t really taste or smell, etc. do you think that the virus has been here a little longer than projected? My sister who’s a doctor up in Canada seems to think we had the virus then and that were immune to it now.
