Connor Shaw’s left foot, once so mangled he took pain-killing injections before games and pain pills on the sideline during games, is now healthy enough to allow him to jump out of an airplane, which he did Saturday.
The medical update is good news for South Carolina’s football team. What Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier will think of his starting quarterback taking up skydiving is another matter.

I'm glad he's healthy again. Hopefully it will stay that way. It's hard for any QB to stay healthy when a QB runs the ball as much as he does. It works for us though.

They really downplayed his injuries all year. Didn't realized his ankle was hurt that badly.
He has the potential to put up some gaudy numbers this year if he can stay healthy

Shaw participated in a tandem jump (a requirement for first-time jumpers)......
Look out SEC!!!!!! Connor Shaw's ankle is healthy enough for a "tandem jump".......which means he jumped out of an airplane with his arse fastened tightly to some other dudes groin.....
Cue the Heisman campaign!!!!!!!!..........
SEC fricked.

"tandem jump".
Talkin' bout tandems, did you know in last year's game against USC, Gurshall combined for 76 yards 25 carries and 0 TD's?
That was ALMOST as good as our broken foot, QB who ran for 78 yards on 14 carries and 1 TD.

Yeah, my wife and I ran into him during the rain delayed regional game. We've met him a couple of times before and he was telling her he was going to make the jump so she told him I was a jump master and he asked a few questions - the young man is always super nice and very polite. I have a feeling that we may see him down the road as our head football coach one day. There is something about him that is very very special. Tough to put a finger on but he may be the first legacy coach for us.
I have a feeling he is going to lead us to a very special year as well. These next two seasons have the potential to permanently put us on the right track for some time to come. The potential to set us on a path towards long term competitiveness and respectability. He's tied into our future, I'm not quite sure how just yet - but I think he already has his mind set on it - something about the things he says and how much more mature he is than most of his age and/or position.
Anyways, who knows - just an old man's opinion and observations. But there is something about Shaw that is special.

Talking about USC and UT as the tandem destined to finish behind UGA and UF in the east every year?

What's your cutoff point? If USC beat UGA for the next 5 years, every year, but always finished behind UGA in the standings, would you still be happy? What about 10 years, 15 years, etc...? Is there a cutoff?

I think Shaw is a very good quarterback, he's smart, he's got a good arm, he is a very convincing dual threat.
