short term blimp view of the schedule - Carolina plays 10 of the next 11 games against ranked teams -
3 vs #12 OU
vs The College
3 at #3 Ark
vs #8 NC in Charlotte
3 vs #1 Jethro Bodine
not sure what kind of carnage will come out of all of that but Mainieri's many years experience will be tested to keep the team focused through it all -

Hall is good too.

Going to be a long season boys.

Well the positive side of me is thinking this. We havent lost to a bad team yet. 2,6, and 9 in the country. Should we be winning more than 1 of those games? absolutely, but 1-8 vs those guys and undefeated might still be good enough for low 30's. Still room to improve

Anyone ever been up to Charlotte for one of these games with the tar holes? Seems like it'd be fun, but sorry I am never doing that on a weeknight.

just looked at the SEC only stats for the first time this season - and the thing that has jumps out - USC has hit into 12 double plays in 9 league games -
to magnify it - Gamecocks have yet to record a double play in 3 SEC weekends - and have blown two that directly affected the outcome of each game -
Carolina's hit 7 home runs in 9 games - our opponents 21 - it gets crazy when the hits are only +3 in favor of the opponents 94-97 -
we've wiped away big innings time and again hitting into double plays - Gamecocks have scored 44 runs in the 9 games - and have allowed 79 - crazy -
eta - yes the level of competition appears to be the 2 best in the country so far and an OU team the USC gifted the series win to on Sunday - Opening Weekend -

Our next two series are very winnable.. then I believe it's Florida after Ole Miss. We don't win the Ms. State and A&M series we're done.

thats the only thing giving me hope. We have only lost to ranked teams. That said we have to start winning some of those ranked games as well.

3 of next 5 series against current fellow 1-8 conference foes.

I get that. But we play in the SEC. Everyone is ranked. We’ve always played a lot of ranked teams, we used to beat them anyway. It’s sad how far we’ve fallen. Of course I hope the new coach succeeds, but hiring an old man who was burned out before he left his old job is a fricking mystery to me. Especially in the days of NIL.

Lazy Tanner hire.

Pulmonary has lost it - Ole Miss series opener - puts a guy in LF who's been battling a leg injury all season - over a healthy speedy Evan Stone - who is at DH tonight
Stone's only thrown out 2 from LF at the plate this season and had another ball dropped for a 3rd out at home -
fingers crossed PM spelled everyone's name correctly on the lineup card tonight -

15 ground outs on 86 pitches - 61 strikes - 3 double plays - been awhile since we've seen an SEC series opener performance like that from one of our starting arms - sinker was on -

Yet PM didn't even give Stone a opportunity last weekend.

Is OM supposed to be good or not? Legit haven’t followed much this year.

Their fans are whining that they are trash and awful and fire their coach...but they are ranked #11 and have a winning SEC record...
