Thats a good point. I still think if we had got him back in 2017 we would be looking at a much different program. He was at the top of his game back then

So vandy winning yesterday bumped their RPI up to 20. Meaning in Hoover so far we have picked up 5 quad 1 wins essentially. 14-18 in that category which is pretty good.

Please keep in mind that the teams we have beat are using the Tanner approach to the SEC tournament by not throwing their top pitchers.

That game last night...with Brazzy driving in the winning run sucks...but man this tournament has been a bunch of dudes battling their butts off. Can't have 4 errors, but Messina and the squad are battling.

I’ll take Braswell being a nonfactor for most of the game over what Cousinard did to us 
Tough loss but not the end of the world. Incredibly fun game. Pitching is still a yikes but obviously nothing was going to miraculously get better in the postseason

South Carolina chokes another lead away
This time an 8-0 lead.
Not the worst to lose and get out of the SEC tourney, but more of the same from Kingston. Expect more of the same in the tournament.

7 years in the Kingston era and our pitching staff is shite. Remember the days that when we went up by 2 you could rest comfortably now we go up by 8 and lose.

I do remember those days. We locked that shite down.
Although, we lost last week on horrendous fielding..
Our pitchers had to make way too many outs. I think they did ok..
Giving up homers in the 10th and pitching behind that team is stressing.
We may see surprises with rotations this week.
Our downfall will be our infield. We are very bad..horrendous even..

Kingston is still a deadman walking imo (barring Omaha), but I want the guys to do well. I really love a few of these guys and this team doesnt quit. We lost to LSU, but man those games were fun games to watch, just sucks to think of what could have been

In reality, this is a pretty manageable regional. We couldn't have asked for better matchup wise.

he isnt exactly wrong....but only if you throw in a CWS in there. To many fans on paper and in person are two totally different things.
Kingston can tout 4 supers out of 7 years if he were to make it but....We didnt host this year and shouldnt have hosted the ODU year. Add in that last year we squeezed into a host spot after a letdown to the end the season. 0 years under him have we earned a national seed.
So from a fans perspective we overachieved in the post season for the teams we had, but only just achieved what the program expects in those 4 years. The feelings would be different if in those 4 years we had 2 national seeds, and hosted the other 2.
so its CWS or bust for the fans, and even some will still be bummed we keep Kingston because we want to host, win games, win the SEC. We dont want to rely on cindarella runs.

You may have a point and this is not a tough regional. How many coaches would want to come to a program that just fired a coach after making back to back SR.
