I agree we need to handle tonights game with authority. With our pitching depth we shouldn't have issues. We do need to clean up our defense but I expected some sloppy play at the start of the season. Looking forward to seeing one of our Freshman on the mound tonight. Will give my thoughts on this coming weekend after todays game.

Of all the feats that 2010 team accomplished the most underrated is that they won every single midweek game. That almost never happens to anyone, no matter how good they are.

Now leads the nation in that category. The last blast nearly took out the scoreboard.

8-3 Going into the 8th. We have some power hitters on this team but got to shore up the defense mistakes before this weekend.

yep - big concern.

I was just about to mention I don't know if Mendham is the guy to protect Clarke in the lineup and he just launces his own - 3 straight HR for Carolina.

Monte won't throw anything to Clarke this weekend other than junk. he'll walk him before he lets his staff throw anything over the plate to Clarke. Wes will have to hit mistakes when they come.

eta - and Sightler...goes yard. 4th HR of the B8. 12-3 USC.

Brings back memories of the Georgia game where we hit 5 HR in a row one inning.

I'm sure Lee wont give Clarke anything to hit but it could be a huge mistake thinking you can pitch around our hitters.

yeah that half-inning in the Athens Super was something to behold.

USC couldn't have had a better last AB tonight before this weekend gets cranked up. well done.

hopefully the infield - outside of Mendham who's been plus - gets its collecting shite together. sloppy at times and it cost them.

This one is in the books 12-4 Gamecocks with 7 HR in the game.

Now on to the farm molesters. Weather in cow town friday is cold and rainy. Our offense is seriously dangerous and can strike at any moment. Power pitchers with deep staff. The infield defense is going to cost us games going forward if we don't clean it up. We need to stop trying to make espn plays and keep it simple. Do we not have another option at 2nd base besides Heinrich?

Oh and F*ck clempson.

We had 7 HR in the game last season that happened? 2010.
I would say they heard you loud and clear. Here is Wes Clarke after the game.

This should be Wes Clarke's song that is played as he goes to bat.

Todays game in the cow field has been postponed due to rain and rescheduled for Tues May 11. The schedule as been changed to reflect that.

They scared.

This hurts our chance at a sweep. We had their ace today and two freshmen the next two days. Beat the ace and we had a good shot at rattling the two freshman pitchers. Now they'll adjust their lineup.

We can still crush their spirit by taking out their ace and 1 of the freshmen this weekend plus our pitching depth, quanity & quality, is better than the Tators so that helps us in a midweek game. Honestly though while I always enjoy beating them I dont really get worked up about them in the regular season as I do in tournament games.
This is the premier rivals matchup in college baseball. Clempson has always been 1 team that year in and year out is one of the best in the nation even though they have never won it all...nor played for the championship either.

This is just another reason to get rid of that weird home-neutral-away crap.

Just play 3 games home one year and 3 games home the next year. Hell, play 3 in Greenville or Charleston some years for all I care.

I think it's a better set-up anyway but would also allow for double headers if necessary due to weather.

I had a couple of strokes during the game. Damn good win. Great pitchers dual and the Gamecocks faught hard for that win. 3-2 11 innings. 5-0
Huge game tomorrow. Lets see who has the best arms left.

This team deserves some love so far.

It's a shame.

What has happened to our major sports since 2014 (save the 1 Final 4 appearance) has really beaten down our fan base I think and it sucks.

Tanner went from arguably the most beloved Gamecock of all time to people wanting to run him out of town.

With all that said I hope the love for this baseball comes back like it used to. They deserve it.

I just watched a clip of Phil Disher hitting a game winning GS vs Eastern Michigan of all teams. The first Carolina baseball game I ever went to. I know Sarge Frye was way smaller but it was packed against a nobody opponent.

Hopefully we can see the crowds and the support picking up again.

Disher hit a moon shot in that 5 homer streak against UGA in the 2006 Supers.

it will with a vengeance in front of 1900 capped attendance - as soon as tomorrow at Founders. if Carolina handles at home Sunday - it will be all over Midlands/Lowcountry sports talk radio. Upstate will be pondering whether Coach Browneye should have his team pack a toothbrush for the taters visit to the ACC hoops tourney.

it should have never gotten to extra innings, and it could've easily been lost in extra innings - but this club stole a win they should have had in 9 innings. huge double play by Carolina T11 was a sign of clutch the program's largely 'misplaced' since 2014.

what a demoralizing loss for CU.
