I don't know how good Tennessee will be this year, my guess is not good,
but this feels like rock bottom

Rock bottom will be not winning a conference series this season, because that's where it looks like we're headed.

damn you got lit up with DV. lol
Im beginning to hit the panic button on gamecock baseball. If we dont get a series win with auburn then its over.
sigh* it was fun while it lasted. Beating clemson was fun.

I'm assuming my followers are just hitting the wrong button.
Keep in mind we lost our starting rotating for the weekend by season's start and have lost 6 pitchers that we were counting on. Playing in the SEC with your 3rd tier staff is not a recipe for success.

Getting shut out by NC A&T. This team is bad.

Glad I made other plans

Our beach volleyball program seems to be on the rise. We also have a powerful bass fishing squad.

Lol. Beat #3 NC State tonight. 2-7 vs the SEC. 3-1 vs the ACC.

SEC has always been about great pitchers and defense. If we could hit 4 homers a game we might win some of those conference games.

Lol. Beat UNC.
4-11 vs the SEC. 4-1 vs the ACC.

I see where Logan Chapman has entered the transfer portal. Can't say that I blame him.

yeah - not sure what to make of his decision to leave. I know he had TJ surgery and couldn't pitch at all this season. he had some good moments his FR season.
was gonna put this in here yesterday - it's ugly, so view with caution.

The Carnage ...through 21 SEC games
24 K's 48 AB / 4 BB - Eyster
20 K's 66 AB / 7 BB - Campbell
19 K's 59 AB / 11 BB - Allen
19 K's 71 AB / 6 BB - Olson
18 K's 39 AB / 1 BB - Jenkins
18 K's 79 AB / 9 BB - Hopkins
17 K's 74 AB / 5 BB - Callil
15 K's 71 AB / 15 BB - Berryhill
15 K's 73 AB / 4 BB - Cullen
165 K in 580 AB from everyday players. Eyster strikes out 1 of every 2 AB. Jenkins close behind. 198 K's overall for the whole team in 21 games - 9.43/game.
Gamecocks as a team have been outscored 128/70 - out hit 200/122 - in 54 less AB than opponents. USC has hit 20 HR to 17 for opponents.
the most puzzling - Hopkins has just 14 hits (13 singles/1 double) with 15 total bases and a .177 avg / .190 slg%. he does have 8 stolen bases in 9 attempts.
Berryhill (.296) Callil (.257) are the only 2 starters hitting over .250 in league play. Campbell (.212) & Cullen (.205) are the only other starters hitting over .200.
-----------------------------------
this has been the most un-Gamecock baseball team/season since we've been in the SEC. likely the worst since 1969 even though this team is somehow still +4 in the win column overall. this season is in free-fall mode after last weekend's unthinkable nightmare outcome against that mediocre at-best program.
Coach Raines won 11 SEC games in '94 when the league played 26 games. 13 is the least amount of SEC wins USC notched in the current 30 game conference schedule. having only 5 with 9 to play...extremely unlikely this team will even get close to double-digit conference wins.
#2 Vanderbilt/home
Kentucky/home
#7 State/away
1 with Furman & Upstate left OOC
my only hope is the team will somehow get to 28 wins and avoid a losing season.
Hoover??? - USC, UK, ALA each 5-16. Gamecocks needs to finish a game better than ALA as they have the tiebreaker over Carolina. Gamecocks have to take at least 2 vs UK.
ALA - at AUB / #17 TxAM / at #8 UGA
UKY - #6 ARK / at USC / #2 VAN
for all the years we've bitched about Hoover, this team may be the first to not even qualify to go.

We are using situational pitchers as weekend starters. Not sure why everyone doesn't understand our season is where it is at mainly because of this reason.
