Whats up Cocks. We are planning our annual football road trip and are looking forward to heading east for a weekend. I am looking for some insight on a hotel, bars, restaurants, and other things to do. TIA

For specifics on nightlife, we need more info:
age, level of desired drunkeness, marital status (or that it doesn't matter,) and what you look for in a bar/club.

Maybe we should start a running thread. It occurs at a decent enough rate, and with LSU coming to town this year and this being an LSU board, I imagine it'll jump around football season.

Columbia's music scene is turrible.

The Tin Roof has some good live music. Genre is a solid Southern / Country Rock. However, it is a pretty big college crowd, and hanging around drunken students of the home team the weekend of a game is never the greatest idea. Don't get me wrong. We're generally a hospitable folk... but 18-22 year olds are the same no matter the school.

I almost made an exception for Tin Roof/Music Farm but it depends on who (if anyone) is playing.

According to most UGA/Clemson fans, Columbia is nothing more than an incessantly burning trash pile filled with derelicts, hobos, hookers, and white trash. We will throw batteries at you, yell at old ladies, and throw your children off the upper decks of our dump of a stadium. Our university is not a real school, and only exists to support a cheating athletic department. You should avoid this place.

Remember 2 years ago when someone in the upperdeck of Williams Brice threw that clemson guy's baby over the side?

I'm sorry you're not getting much help guy. After a 7-6 football season, a 17-16 basketball season, and the worst baseball team of the 21st century that could have a .500 record as well... this could be one of the most mediocre years we've ever seen.

Therefore, we are a depressed peoples.

Did you read the thread? The poor guy got 2 responses that equated to, "Vista."

I thought both my links were good. The guy didn't provide any background info. We don't know if he's a "Hell Yes, sweet the HoJo has rooms available," or a "this place doesn't have room service after midnight, frick that" type of person.

Actually, I was hoping you would offer him free entry passes into Platinum West, but whatever.

You don't have to pay to get into Plat West, as long as you flash a stack of cash.

I thought after we lost to Clemson "Frank the Tank will get me to remove the bag". And after we beat Iowa State I almost changed the avi. But no. I thought to myself "Is the non-conference really enough? I should wait and see how we do in SEC play". And then we lose 7 of 8 or w/e it was.

Then I thought "Surely baseball season will redeem my avi. There is no way I'll be stuck with this bagged frick through the summer!"

We proceed to lose to Furman, Winthrop and PC on our way to the worst season in a decade and a half

Anyways to get this thread on track, I suggest Carolina Ale House, Tin Roof, Hickory Tavern, and Wild Wings all in the Vista. Ale House and Tin Roof sometimes have live music.

If you're looking for pool Jillian's has a shite ton of tables and an arcade in the back, but prepare to pay out the arse on the weekends. Think its 7 or 8 bucks an hour for a table. It is also in the Vista

If you want to bag a freshman head to Pav's in 5 points. If you want to bag a chick over 21 head to Jake's in 5 points.
